Harley-Davidson Apex Sun Shield X14 open-face helmet wins German helmet test
PERFORMANCE THAT STANDS OUT
The Harley-Davidson Jet helmet Apex Sun Shield X14 wins German helmet test
(FRANKFURT, 06.10.2025) - The Apex Sun Shield X14 from Harley-Davidson has been named the best jet helmet in its class in a comprehensive test by a German motorcycle magazine. It proves that real protection and the feeling of boundless freedom need not be a contradiction in terms.

Harley-Davidson has been offering motorcycle clothing for over a century, evolving from simple dust caps to state-of-the-art safety equipment. Today, the Apex Sun Shield X14 (part no. 98156-22EX) continues this long tradition. It is the synthesis of advanced technology, motorcycling function and unmistakable style.
Made of fiberglass, the helmet with a double D-ring chin strap complies with the latest European standard ECE 22-06, which sets the highest safety standards through detailed testing of shock absorption, rotational forces, fasteners and chin straps, among other things. The luxuriously stitched inner lining is moisture-wicking, removable for cleaning and ensures comfort even on long journeys.

The folding sun visor provides 95% UVA and UVB protection and has a scratch-resistant coating on both sides. As the helmet is compatible with Boom! Audio 20S Bluetooth systems, motorcyclists can stay connected and access music, calls and navigation information while on the move.
Weighing just 1,150 grams, the Apex Sun Shield X14 is lightweight without compromising on safety. Its racing-inspired design in classic black and orange with a white Harley-Davidson stripe and a racing stripe that fades towards the middle provides an authentic look.

Two other Harley-Davidson jet helmet models offer the same technical features: the Classic #1 X14 Sun Shield (order no. 98157-22EX) in matt black with the striking Number One logo and the Achromatic Sun Shield X14 (order no. 98162-22EX) in elegant Gunship Grey with a discreet Bar & Shield logo.
The recommended retail price for all three variants in Germany is € 325, in Austria 328 € and in Switzerland 345 CHF. A practical helmet bag is included in the scope of delivery. The helmets are available from authorized Harley-Davidson dealers and online at Harley-Davidson.com.
