Harley-Davidson celebrates its 110th birthday in Italy in 2013!
After many preliminary discussions, it is now clear that Harley-Davidson's 110th birthday will not be celebrated in Carinthia in 2013. The concept was that the start of the season would take place in beautiful Carinthia in May 2013.
There was a lot of public discussion about whether or not the region could be expected to host another event of this size.
After all, the estimated turnover is five million euros and 50,000 thousand bookings, which is an enrichment for any region, one would assume. However, Harley-Davidson has now said no of its own accord and will probably now hold the event in Rome in beautiful Italy.
That's fine with the Harley bikers, they will follow the call and book their hotel in beautiful Rome and celebrate the 110th Harley birthday surrounded by Italian flair.
Rome offers many sights and is already one of the most interesting places in the world, we will know more about it in summer at the latest. There is talk of a biker service at the Vatican and U2 as the top act - that alone is crazy, but it will also require really elaborate logistics and one thing is clear: if you want to stay overnight in a hotel, you should be at the start in good time.
The European Bike Week at Lake Faak will, of course, continue to take place, where a contract has been signed to hold the biggest Harley event in Europe until 2018.
Last year in particular, the glamorous and showcase event was a huge success, with great weather and great entertainment for over a week and once again attracted thousands of Harley fans from all over Europe. You can find plenty of pictures in my gallery.
