Harley-Davidson meeting in Coburg
REUTHER-ENTERTAINMENTS is reviving Schloss Callenberg Rally!
Taking up the tried and tested again and bringing it to new life, better than ever before, is the motto REUTHER-ENTERTAINMENTS follows in 2013, when, just in time for Harley-Davidson's 110th anniversary, bubbling V-twin engines make the time-honored castle walls tremble.
As managing director Hermann Reuther looks back, the Schloss Callenberg Rally was first started in 1998 as an international Harley-Davidson meeting in and around Coburg and was a highlight for Harley-Davidson and motorcycle fans from all over Europe until 2001: “A top event , which at the time was under the patronage of His Highness Prince Andreas of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and the Mayor of the City of Coburg, Norbert Kastner!”
Of course, Coburg has much more to offer its guests than just the venerable castle: here the bridge spans history and modernity, the old is skillfully combined with the new, and the official website of the European city (that's the official title since 2005) makes you want to visit Visit.
“Values and change” is the motto that has been adopted in the administrative region of Upper Franconia, and so there is a keen sense of tradition as well as innovation among people and makers. A good place for bikers who combine traditional values such as camaraderie and a thirst for adventure with modern and technically sophisticated machines: “Although the Harley-Davidson meeting in Coburg had taken a short break in recent years, but now, in the big anniversary year, there was one A new edition is almost inevitable,” explains Hermann Reuther, himself an enthusiastic Harley-Davidson driver.
It starts on Thursday, May 30th, 2013 with a VIP reception in the rose garden of Callenberg Castle. By the way, this was already very popular with Prince Albert and his bride, Queen Victoria of England. Both of them even lived here for a time, and so the motorcycle enthusiasts should also feel at home in the splendor of the castle:
During a tour and a visit to the museum, the guests get to know the wonderful ambience before they have a princely royal dinner in the Red Salon, says the Reuthers team Fancy the rally. Princely terms should be taken literally, “because His Highness, Hereditary Prince Hubertus of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and his wife will also be present at the dinner!”
Friday then begins with a trip to the Wartburg in Thuringia and ends with a multi media event Presentation under the motto “Around the world with the Harley”. Here Hermann Reuther presents his very personal dream destinations and travel impressions, whereby there will certainly be one or two tips for the participants as well as some suggestions for the next big tour...
A fantastic introduction to further highlights in and around Coburg that follow: Because A “ride” on Saturday takes the participants into the world of castles in the Coburg region, a “Castle Run” (the official Reuthers term), which ends with a hearty knight’s meal at the Coburg Castle completes. After all, biking also makes you hungry and thirsty.
However, even the most beautiful days and experiences are over. And so the Schloss Callenberg Rally closes on Sundays with a farewell brunch buffet.
Of course, the event can be extended if desired and supplemented with an exciting arrival and departure. Because REUTHER-ENTERTAINMENTS offers an interesting additional option: participants are provided with current Harley-Davidson rental motorcycles - a special service especially for international guests. From Nuremberg or Munich you go on a guided tour with an experienced Reuthers tour guide and roadside lunch to Coburg and back again!
