The model maintenance measures
Softail series
The frame of the oil cooler is now made of a particularly robust composite material that is less sensitive to stone chips than the metal previously used.
Touring series
The Road King Special , Street Glide Special , Road Glide Special , Ultra Limited and the new Road Glide Limited will with a tire air pressure monitoring system and Reflex Defensive Rider Systems ( RDRS ) 2020 model year
This technology package of assistance systems adapts the acceleration and deceleration forces to the available tire grip both when driving straight ahead and when cornering.
The new assistance systems
The assistance systems are controlled electronically and are based on the most modern chassis, braking and drive control technology. They prove to be helpful in difficult road conditions and in dangerous situations.
While the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake force distribution (ELB) were already standard in all machines in the Touring series, the Reflex Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS) now also include the cornering anti-lock braking system (C-ABS).
The cornering optimized electronic brake force distribution (C-ELB), the traction control (TCS), the cornering traction control (C-TCS), the traction control system (DSCS), the vehicle hold assistant (VHC) and the tire air pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
For the 2020 model year, Harley-Davidson is equipping the Touring models, which feature a Boom! Box GTS infotainment system (Street Glide Special, Road Glide Special, Ultra Limited and the new Road Glide Limited), with HD Connect.
This is a system that uses the third-generation LTE cellular standard to establish connectivity with cloud services and the Harley-Davidson app.
The latter can be installed free of charge on a smartphone via the Apple and Android app stores and includes functions such as navigation and route planning as well as displaying dealer locations and event locations.
HD Connect transmits data for vehicle maintenance via the HD app and offers the owner the opportunity to monitor their motorcycle remotely. Further information about HD Connect can be found from page 9.
A new black finish is available for the Ultra Limited and Road Glide Limited models in 2020. The numerous dark surfaces ensure a stylish and subtle look.
Based on the “Chrome Option” and the “Black Option”, the customer can choose between six different paint colors or color combinations.
