The motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a maximum capacity of 15.5 kWh, which can be supplied with power from household sockets, charging points and fast-charging stations, which is possible in 40 minutes (0 - 80% charge) or 60 minutes (0 - 100 % charge).

Depending on the intended use and measurement method, the range is 153 to 235 kilometers (158 km according to WMTC). The machine has seven driving modes and the Reflex Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS) electronic assistance system package, which adapts the acceleration and deceleration forces to the available tire grip.

In the LiveWire it works with anti-lock braking system (ABS), cornering anti-lock braking system (C-ABS), traction control system (TCS), cornering traction control system (C-TCS), traction control system (DSCS) and cornering traction control system (C-DSCS).

The LiveWire is also being launched with H-D Connect, which provides the driver with information about the vehicle via a mobile app on their smartphone.

The model maintenance measures

Softail series

The frame of the oil cooler is now made of a particularly robust composite material that is less sensitive to stone chips than the metal used previously.

Touring series

The models Road King Special, Street Glide Special, Road Glide Special, Ultra Limited and the new Road Glide Limited are shown in the Model year 2020 with a tire pressure monitoring system and with the Reflex Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS) equipped.

This technology package of assistance systems adjusts the acceleration and deceleration forces to the available tire grip, both when driving straight ahead and when cornering.

The new assistance systems

The assistance systems are electronically controlled and based on state-of-the-art chassis, brake, and drive control technology. They prove helpful in difficult road conditions and dangerous situations.

While the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake force distribution (EBD) were already fitted as standard in all machines in the Touring series, the Reflex Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS) now also include the cornering anti-lock braking system (C-ABS).

For the 2020 model year, Harley-Davidson is equipping the Touring models that have a Boom! Box GTS infotainment system (Street Glide Special, Road Glide Special, Ultra Limited and the new Road Glide Limited) with H-D Connect.

This is a system that establishes connectivity with cloud services and the Harley-Davidson app via the third-generation LTE mobile communications standard.

The latter can be installed free of charge on a smartphone via Apple and Android app stores and includes functions such as navigation and tour planning as well as the display of dealer locations and event venues.

The anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake force distribution (EBD) were also already fitted as standard on CVO models.

The 2020 CVO models also feature the Reflex Defensive Rider Systems with cornering anti-lock braking system (C-ABS), cornering-optimized electronic brake force distribution (C-ELB), traction control system (TCS), cornering traction control system (C-TCS) and traction control system (DSCS). The two-wheelers also have Vehicle Hold Assist (VHC) on board.

All three CVO models - the CVO Limited, the CVO Street Glide and the new trike CVO Tri Glide - will be equipped with the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and H-D Connect as standard in 2020. Further information can be found from page 7 onwards.

Harley-Davidson Daymaker LED headlights

The Daymaker LED headlights fitted as standard on the CVO Limited and CVO Street Glide are now characterized by an adaptive cornering light function.

An electronic control unit integrated directly into the headlamp with patented sensors regulates twelve additional LED light units depending on the current lean angle in order to illuminate the edges of the road when cornering, which conventional passive headlamps cannot reach.

Adaptive bend lighting is active for both high beam and low beam. The light from the LED projectors is focused onto the road and is optimized for the highest possible light output with the least possible impact on oncoming traffic.

A striking outer LED ring forms the parking light.

All CVO models from model year 2020 are supplied with a Boom! Audio 30k Bluetooth helmet headset for wireless connection to the on-board Boom!

Box GTS infotainment system, which is based on the latest mesh intercom network technology and offers numerous advantages over the 20S headsets previously used. In public mode, this digital protocol automatically establishes a connection with several other drivers within range.

In private mode, it enables a network connection with up to 16 drivers over a distance of up to eight kilometers.

At the same time, the headset offers all the functions of a wired headset (hands-free function, navigation instructions, radio and music player as well as voice guidance) and is compatible with the Apple CarPlay requirements for microphones of the Boom! Box GTS infotainment system.

Thanks to the quick-charging function, 20 minutes of charging is enough to guarantee up to five hours of talk time.

The CVO Limited and the CVO Tri Glide trike are fitted with modified, adjustable pillion footboards that offer the passenger extra comfort and legroom.

All CVO models also impress with new features, paint colors and graphics.
