HARLEY-DAVIDSON® PROJECT LIVEWIRE™ EXPERIENCE TOUR NOW ALSO IN EUROPE

The Motor Company invites motorcyclists worldwide to help decide the final design of the first electrically powered Harley-Davidson

OXFORD (February 24, 2015) - Motorcycle enthusiasts around the globe now have the chance to help shape Project LiveWire™ into the first production electric-powered Harley-Davidson, as the 2015 Project LiveWire™ Experience Tour takes place worldwide.

Last year, the presentation of this machine already caused quite a stir. In 2015, in addition to interested parties in the United States, customers in Asia, Europe and Canada are also invited to ride the bike and give Harley-Davidson their feedback in order to drive development forward. Test rides will begin at the end of February with an event at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

„Project LiveWire has redefined people's idea of a Harley-Davidson,“ explains Mark-Hans Richer, Harley-Davidson Chief Marketing Officer. „In the first phase of the Project LiveWire Experience Tour, American riders shared their impressions of the bike and gave us valuable feedback. This year, we are expanding our Experience Tour as we look to gain global insights that will help us shape the future of this exciting technology.“

Project LiveWire™ bikes are non-saleable prototypes with which the Motor Company wants to find out what customers expect from an electrically powered Harley-Davidson®. As part of the Project LiveWire Experience, the company invites motorcyclists to take a test ride. They gain an insight into the potential future of the motorcycle and provide Harley-Davidson with their feedback on the machine. On the authentic Jumpstart™ driving simulator, even fans without a driver's license have the opportunity to gain an impression of the power of the electrically powered bike.

Last year, Harley-Davidson collected more than 15,000 opinions, suggestions and requests about Project LiveWire, including around 6,800 impressions from customers who took a test ride on the bike. The Project LiveWire Experience Tour made stops in 30 U.S. cities and included an event in Miami geared specifically toward Latin American customers. Whether and in what form an electrically powered Harley-Davidson will come onto the market in the future depends on the feedback from customers on the Project LiveWire Experience Tour.

Highlights of the 2015 tour, which includes events in eight countries on three continents, include:

- Test drives for press representatives and invited customers at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia from February 25 to March 4.
- A contest for European motorcyclists. You get the chance to be one of the first 1,000 to test a Project LiveWire bike at one of the five tour stops in the UK, France, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands between May and August.
o GREAT BRITAIN Saturday, May 16 - Sunday, May 17, 2015

o NETHERLANDS Saturday, August 8 - Sunday, August 9, 2015
- Starting in April, thirteen tour stops in the USA and Canada at events and selected Harley-Davidson® dealerships.

„We are guided in our development by the requirements and wishes of our customers,“ assures Richer. „Electric drive technology is developing rapidly, and we are looking forward to using the Project LiveWire Experience to better understand the success factors in this business.“
