Harley-Davidson resumes production of the LiveWire

Harley-Davidson has resumed production and delivery of the LiveWire, its first electric motorcycle. After a problem with the charging technology of the Harley-Davidson LiveWire was fixed.

Harley-Davidson did not disclose exactly what the fault was, but after intensive testing of other models, it was determined that the fault was only found on one motorcycle.

Harley-Davidson had advised its first LiveWire customers to charge their LiveWire only at Harley-Davidson dealers for the time being. Now they say that they can also be recharged at home.

A Harley-Davidson spokesperson told „The Verge“ in the USA the following:

„With the temporary suspension of LiveWire production, we were able to confirm that the non-standard condition found on one motorcycle was an isolated incident,“ a Harley-Davidson spokesperson said in an email to „The Verge“ . „We pride ourselves on our stringent quality assurance measures and our commitment to delivering the best motorcycles in the world.“

After five years of development, the LiveWire, Harley-Davidson's first electric motorcycle, was launched in fall 2019.

The company is a pioneer in the field of electric drives for motorcycles and is also expected to launch small electric bicycles on the market in 2020.
