THE HARLEY-DAVIDSON ROAD GLIDE RETURNS IN 2015
A brand new model with exciting flair and perfect touring suitability
MILWAUKEE (August 1, 2014) – Harley-Davidson® (NYSE: HOG) is upping the ante. The Internet is full of spy photos, rumors and speculation from Harley-Davidson fans around the world who want the Road Glide® to return. Finally the wait is over and the brand new Road Glide Special takes the stage.
Weeks before the presentation of the complete model range for 2015, Harley-Davidson is introducing the Road Glide Special, one of the new bikes for the coming model year.
It shows strong influences from Project RUSHMORE , a product initiative that incorporated extensive customer feedback. Today the slim and striking touring model will be presented to the public at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, USA.

One look at the new Road Glide Special fairing is enough to see that traditional shapes have had their day and a new, even more striking design is triumphing. The Road Glide Special had earned its high reputation by satisfying even the most demanding - now it returns even better. From the striking double headlights with Dual Reflector Daymaker™ LED technology to the lowered chassis that can be adjusted at the rear without tools - the Road Glide Special proves what is possible when you set yourself high goals and take the time necessary to achieve them The Road Glide Special sets standards in custom touring and offers bikers all the functionality they expect.
“The Road Glide has always been a motorcycle for bikers who are cut from a very special cloth. Road Glide Special
A long test phase in the wind tunnel resulted in the new frame-mounted fairing for the Road Glide Special, which uses a triple split stream air duct to minimize turbulence on the helmet and surrounds the rider with a pleasant airflow for optimal comfort. The crystal-clear white light of the Dual Reflector Daymaker™ LED double headlight illuminates even the darkest corners as bright as day. Integrated into the middle of the interior paneling is the Boom! ™ Box 6.5GT premium touchscreen infotainment system with navigation system.
Alternatively, it can also be operated with the two joysticks on the new handlebars, which are pulled back for an active and comfortable seating position. The Twin Cam 103™ V-Twin high-performance engine offers amazing torque even with the slightest push of the throttle and, in combination with two chrome-plated rear silencers, ensures an unmistakable sound.
The touring features include hard-shell cases with one-touch operation, a cruise control system and very easy-to-read display instruments. For even more safety, the Road Glide Special comes with electronic brake force distribution and ABS. The interior lining is presented in an exclusive paint finish, and hand-applied pinstripes provide the icing on the cake in terms of appearance.
