A brand new model with exciting flair and perfect touring capability

MILWAUKEE (August 1, 2014) - Harley-Davidson® (NYSE: HOG) goes one better. The Internet is full of Erlkönig photos, rumors and speculation from Harley-Davidson Fans all over the world who want the Road Glide® to return. Finally, the wait is over and the brand new Road Glide Special takes to the stage.
Weeks before the presentation of the complete model range for 2015, Harley-Davidson presents the Road Glide Special, one of the new bikes for the coming model year.

It shows strong influences from the Project RUSHMORE, a product initiative that has incorporated extensive customer feedback. Today, the slim and striking Touring Model on the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, USA.

One look at the new Road Glide Special fairing is enough to realize that traditional shapes have had their day and a new, even more striking design has triumphed. The Road Glide Special had earned its high reputation by satisfying even the most discerning rider - now it returns even better. From the striking dual headlights with Dual Reflector Daymaker™ LED technology to the lowered and tool-free adjustable rear suspension, the Road Glide Special proves what's possible when you set your sights high and take the time to achieve them.The Road Glide Special sets the standard for custom touring and offers bikers all the functionality they expect.

Road Glide Special

The new frame-mounted fairing of the Road Glide Special was created during a long test phase in the wind tunnel, which minimizes turbulence on the helmet with a triple split-stream air channel and surrounds the rider with a pleasant airflow for optimum comfort. The crystal-clear white light of the Dual Reflector Daymaker™ LED twin headlamp illuminates even the darkest corners as bright as day. Integrated in the center of the interior trim is the Boom! ™ Box 6.5GT premium infotainment system with touchscreen and navigation system.

Alternatively, it can also be operated using the two joysticks on the new handlebars, which have been moved back for a more comfortable riding position. The Twin Cam 103™ V-twin high-performance engine offers astonishing torque even at the slightest throttle stroke and, in combination with two chrome-plated rear silencers, ensures an unmistakable sound.

The touring features include hard-shell cases with one-touch operation, cruise control and very easy-to-read display instruments. For even more safety, the Road Glide Special comes with electronic brake force distribution and ABS on. The interior trim has an exclusive paint finish and hand-applied pinstripes provide the icing on the cake in terms of appearance.
