Harley-Davidson Stuttgart with new managing directors after 35 years
(Neu-Isenburg, June 4th, 2020) The year is 1985. USA for Africa is releasing one of the most successful singles of all time, We are the world. Mikhail Gorbachev, newly elected general secretary of the CPSU, meets Ronald Reagan and Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh horrifies his sannyasins by confessing that he didn't mean the whole thing that seriously. It is the year in which US bike fans Gerd Maier and Fred Pistor opened their Harley-Davidson dealership in Stuttgart.
Now – 35 years later – the two veterans of the scene are saying goodbye to their well-deserved retirement. Harley-Davidson Stuttgart will still exist. The next generation has already taken over the helm: Jan Löll and Jan Stengl are now running the business on Zuffenhauser Straße. And they will ensure that the HD Stuttgart reviews on Google continue to be top-notch.
In 1985, you wouldn't have dreamed that you would be rated by hundreds of computer users - even though the service that Maier and Pistor offer has been top notch from the start. The two creators set up shop in Leonberg. Meanwhile, the new Evolution engine, new manufacturing methods, strict quality controls and fresh marketing concepts ensure that Harley-Davidson is on the rise. And business is booming in Stuttgart.
So it's no surprise that the Swabians' shop is bursting at the seams after just ten years. Maier and Pistor are looking for a new home and find it in Korntal, right outside the gates of the Baden-Württemberg state capital. More and more customers from all over the state and beyond come here because the Swabian team inspires them with expertise and passion.
15 years later, it's time again to create more space: conversions and extensions now provide an area of around 2,200 square meters - enough space for new and used Harleys, the associated service, fashion and accessories as well as parties and vehicle storage. Harley-Davidson Stuttgart is celebrating its 30th company anniversary in 2015 in a big way - with motorcycle acrobatics, test rides , exhibitors, live music, a beer tent and a white sausage breakfast.
Another mega party was planned for 2020, but a tiny virus called Corona put a stop to the Stuttgarters' plans. There would have been a lot to talk about, because after 35 years of serving the Bar and Shield logo, Gerd Maier and Fred Pistor - as mentioned at the beginning - are withdrawing from the business and handing over the reins to Jan Löll and Jan Stengl, who are no strangers to customers: 42-year-old Löll has been in the Harley-Davidson Stuttgart office since 2011 and 44-year-old Stengl has been there since his apprenticeship, which began in the workshop 15 years ago.
So a breath of fresh air and new ideas? Sure, but not only! “Harley-Davidson Stuttgart will of course keep its spirit,” promises Löll, “we will continue to do everything we can to make every customer a regular customer.” And Gerd Maier and Fred Pistor? Of course, you will continue to meet them wherever Harley fans gather and motorcycles .
“We would like to thank our customers for the many years together and ask them to place the same trust in our successors that we enjoyed,” adds Maier.
Harley-Davidson Germany congratulates Jan Löll and Jan Stengl on taking over the business, thanks Gerd Maier and Fred Pistor for their decades of commitment and wishes them an exciting (
un)retirement.
