Children sometimes have to be very indulgent with adults, said “Little Prince” inventor Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, after all, big people love numbers instead of paying attention to the essentials. This is now especially true when children become ill: German children's hospitals are sounding the alarm because the flat rates that have been in effect since 2005, which are no longer based on the actual treatment and care effort, are often not enough to treat children promptly, fairly and to cover costs .
The DRK Children's Clinic in Siegen , one of the few hospitals in Germany that specializes in patients up to the age of 18, has also been in acute financial distress for years. In order to maintain the quality of treatment and care for around 6,000 inpatients and 50,000 outpatients every year, clinic marketing man Arnd Dickel came up with the fundraiser-Motorrad.de two years ago, which supported both the good cause and attractive prizes sponsored by the motorcycle industry focus. Harley-Davidson a supporter of the campaign from the start the German branch and two authorized dealers are also involved in the third edition, which Dickel presented “Custombike”
And this is how it works: Anyone who donates at least 5 euros by December 10, 2016 supports the work of the DRK Children's Clinic Siegen and has several chances to win. This season's main prize is a Harley-Davidson Softail sponsored by Harley - Davidson and customized by Thunderbike Harley -Davidson Niederrhein ( Thunderbike.de .
“The bike will be worth almost 50,000 euros,” announces Thunderbike managing director Andreas Bergerforth , “we will only leave the 'how' of customizing to others, because this time the Harley fans will decide on the style of the conversion - via web voting!” And with it the new one Fundraiser-Motorrad.de is gaining momentum right from the start, Bertl's Harley-Davidson Bamberg (Harley-Bamberg.de) goes one better: “Everyone who donates by April 15, 2016 also has the chance to win a tuning car. Kit for his V2 worth 3,500 euros,” promises managing director and horsepower pope Berthold “Bertl” Paukner. In addition, clothing specialist John Doe (ridejohndoe.com) is donating a Lumberjack Kevlar shirt and a Lumberjacket Kevlar Raw Denim, each worth 249 euros, which will be raffled off at the kick-off and main drawing.
The proceeds from the last two fundraising campaigns benefited palliative care and the care of burn-injured children at the Siegen children's clinic. The donations from the third edition will be used, among other things, to purchase a sonography device for pediatric surgery, which reduces radiation exposure during diagnostics. “We are pleased to be able to contribute to this together with our authorized dealers, because ultimately the best should be good enough for all of us for children,” explains Frank Klumpp from Harley-Davidson Germany GmbH, the commitment. “We hope that a lot of fans of our brand show a heart for kids.” Information about the campaign and participation can be found on the web at Spenderaktion-Motorrad.de.
