(Oxford, August 16, 2017) This year, the 20th anniversary of the European Bike Week® takes place amidst the picturesque Alpine backdrop in the south of Austria: from September 5th to 10th, more than 120,000 Harley-Davidson® fans and music enthusiasts will be at Lake Faaker See getting together.

Europe's largest motorcycle event is eagerly awaited every year. No wonder, because the unique combination of fantastic Alpine scenery, breathtaking motorcycle routes, exuberant atmosphere and lots of strong live music really suits every taste. In addition, there is no entrance fee.

This year, Harley-Davidson is even offering another treat for all real motor maniacs with the international Simultaneous Time Trial (STT): The company is inviting journalists from all over the world to a spectacular head-to-head on a flat track -Race to compete against each other. The extraordinary highlight takes place on a specially created dirt track oval, a novelty at the European Bike Week. Each journalist will compete on a Street Rod 750 that has been specially converted for the occasion - handlebars, seat, tank, exhaust, wheels and tires have been modified. The engine of this machine also forms the basis for the racing engine of the factory flat track racer XG 750R.

Without a doubt: Adrenaline and decibels rule on the flat track in Faak. Ten Street Rod 750s, reduced to the essentials for racing, will be ready for battle in the dust and dirt. They will be assigned to journalists by lottery on Tuesday, September 5th. The riders first get to know their bikes during training. If you want, you can get lessons from a race professional. On Wednesday, September 6th, the opponents will compete against each other in several rounds - including quarter and semi-finals - until the winner is chosen in the grand finale. The rider who completes the fastest lap in the final gets to keep his bike and take it home. The highlight: In addition to registered journalists and authorized Harley-Davidson dealers, at certain times even brave end users can get into the saddle under the expert guidance of a professional Flat Track School.
