Let's have a party
The Harley Dome Cologne took place on June 18th and 19th
• New location and free entry
• Around 30,000 visitors over the two event days
• Custom bikes, used parts and “street food” market, live bands and parade
(Neu-Isenburg, June 20, 2015) Harley shouted and the fans flocked to Cologne. Around 30,000 motorcycle and music fans visited the Harley Dome Cologne on June 18th and 19th. On the two days of the event, machines of all brands and people with gasoline in their blood had the Alfred-Schhütte-Allee in the Poll district on the right bank of the Rhine, opposite the cathedral and Rheinauhafen, under constant control.
With free admission, the new urban location offered plenty of space for an extra-strong program with Harley-Davidson authorized dealers, a large trader area for clothing and accessories as well as the Jeep Adventure Trail, where the US four-wheelers demonstrated their off-road skills. Driver's license holders were able to hop on a brand new Harley for a test drive and fans of good rock music got their money's worth in front of the large open air stage: 12 bands ensured a festival feeling befitting their status.
The street food market offered a number of culinary highlights that are not usually expected at a motorcycle event, while people in the beer gardens armed themselves with cold drinks against the sun, which was rare on Saturday but was shining brightly all day long on Sunday burned. The bollard meadows directly adjacent to the event site offered space to relax and enjoy the incomparable Rhine panorama including the cathedral.
Precious metal on two wheels - around 100 elaborately converted unique pieces - could be admired in the custom bike show, where the jury evaluation was supplemented this year by a separate audience vote. “Main Street” on their bikes – around 5,000 bikers didn’t have to be asked twice. “See and be seen” was also the motto of the big parade, in which around 3,000 machines rolled through the city center and past the tourist highlights of the cathedral metropolis to the cheers of numerous onlookers.
After the Harley Dome Cologne is before the Harley Dome Cologne: Next year it will of course be party time again in Cologne.
