Another break year: IMOT - International Motorcycle Exhibition Munich canceled for 2022

Munich. The two-wheeler trade fair IMOT - International Motorcycle Show planned for February 18 to 20, 2022 at the exhibition grounds in Munich-Riem has been canceled. With this decision, IMOT GmbH is reacting to the continuing high Covid-19 infection figures, the existing restrictions for major events and the resulting planning uncertainty for both organizers and exhibitors.

„It is very bitter, but ultimately we had no choice but to press the pause button for the 2022 edition of our trade fair,“ explains Petra Zahradka, Managing Director of IMOT. „Unfortunately, the Covid-19 infection situation in Bavaria and the neighboring regions remains at a consistently high level, and there is no sign of a trend reversal in the coming weeks. As a result, we will not be able to organize a large public trade fair like IMOT on the planned date with the necessary safety for visitors, our exhibitors and not least for our team.“

After the IMOT - International Motorcycle Show had been a fixture in the German two-wheeler industry for over 27 years, the organizers had already taken a break for the first time in 2021 due to the pandemic situation. After the preparations for IMOT 2022 were very successful again and the industry had shown great interest in the restart, the renewed cancellation is particularly painful. „In addition to our responsibility in terms of health, our decision to cancel is also based on the need to give exhibitors and their employees and service providers the necessary planning security,“ Zahradka continues.

„Our goal is actually to completely reorganize IMOT. The cornerstones of this new concept are the move to the exhibition grounds in Munich-Riem and the cooperation with the travel and leisure trade fair f.re.e. and the Münchner Auto Tage, which are planned to take place there at the same time. We are now planning to realize this very attractive combination of events for all trade fair visitors in 2023.“
