The legendary biker magazine Easyriders has been around in the USA since 1971, and the magazine is still fully active in Europe today.
There are a considerable number of magazines on the subject of custom bikes and Harley-Davidson, and it is often the case that the customer is not just a fan of certain magazines, but rather specifically chooses their topic and buys the magazine that seems particularly interesting to them.
In addition to Easyriders there is Bikerspower (discontinued in 2019) and Huber Verlag , with the equally iconic Dream Machines and Biker News .
We've probably all read them before, even if the Internet can't be stopped, it can't replace a magazine with detailed reports and glossy photos.
It's still something different to hold the good old newspaper in your hand, but circulation is no longer as high as in the good old days.
The cost pressure is considerable, but we still can't complain about the quality of the reporting. It would be nice if it stays that way for a long time and the magazines continue to accompany us in our hobby.
They were important in the past and they still are today, they are somehow part of the cult, so every now and then think about picking one up from the shelf or simply taking out an annual subscription.
You can also get this as a gift when the question comes up again: “What do you want for your birthday?” We all know that, it never comes to mind.
In this new “In the Wind” section you can see a few excerpts from US magazines from the 70s/80s/90s. Back then in the USA it was still very liberal, hot girls, cool bikes and wild guys. A rough easy rider society that has changed enormously over the years.
But regardless, it's interesting what the topics in the US biker world were over 40 years ago. And yes, David Mann was also very popular with his pictures 40 years ago. HARLEYSITE.DE > In the Wind
