Jan Hofer says goodbye to the Tagesschau after 35 years

„Do it well!“ That's what he said at the end of his last Tagesschau and now he's retiring at the age of 68 after 35 years as a Tagesschau news anchor.

And what comes next? That's the question that some people ask themselves when they suddenly have to find out that everyday life is different now. We Harley riders are always told that we are mostly old farts and there are no more new blood. At some point, we have indeed aged that much and suddenly we are faced with a completely new life plan.

However, one always forgets that in recent years, many women have discovered Harley riding for themselves and you have to remember that we Harley riders are in a price-demanding segment. And it is precisely at this age that many motorcyclists from other manufacturers end up finding their way to the Harley-Davidson brand.

And what does Jan Hofer do now? What should he want to do, he is now retired and can live out his days. In a Tageschau interview, he mentioned that he was thinking about doing a podcast.

In any case, the man from Hamburg has put his tie away now, this unimportant thing has only ever haunted him anyway and now he could get the casual Harley outfit out again, at least when the temperatures rise again in spring. Sure, he's not a full-blooded Harley biker now, but when he has time, he enjoys it, as he once told me at the Hamburg Harley Days.

Harley-Davidson offers a lot, at least when the world is running in normal mode, and it certainly shows how good it is to have started riding a Harley in good time, or to have taken care of other hobbies in good time.

Jan Hofer loves riding Harley-Davidson and we have already seen him ride in the parade at the Hamburg Harley Days twice. Cool with a jet helmet in stars and stripes colors on the bike, he is by no means the staid guy you might otherwise think.

We wish him all the best for his retirement and the future. Perhaps we will see him more often in the next few years at one of the Harley events that will hopefully take place again!
