Two days. Millions of kilometers. A shared passion
MILWAUKEE (June 2, 2015) – Just ride – just ride. A simple idea that aims to connect motorcyclists around the world, regardless of their age, origin and preferred motorcycle brand. A slogan that gets to the heart of what you have to do to join the ranks of the many thousands of Harley-Davidson ® riders and Harley Owners Group ® members who will enjoy the freedom of the country road on June 27th and 28th this year celebrate.
“One of the best experiences a motorcycle can offer is the escape from the monotony of everyday life, the joy of riding and the feeling of freedom that comes with it,” says Ken Ostermann , Harley-Davidson General Manager of Integrated Marketing Operations . “The Harley-Davidson World Ride is all about getting on your bike, enjoying life and sharing that amazing feeling with others.”
The idea was born as Million Mile Monday® in 2008 by members of the Harley Owners Group . So that even more bikers around the world could take part in the campaign, Harley-Davidson turned it into the two-day World Ride . Last year, participants covered a total of more than 16 million kilometers - men and women, people in small and large groups, as well as guests at dealer events around the globe, united by a shared passion for motorcycling. In 2015 the campaign will also take place over two days, but this time it will be a Saturday and a Sunday, so that more people around the world will once again have the opportunity to take part.
“The indescribable feeling of freedom that comes with riding a motorcycle can change your life,” says Ken Osterman. “Participating in the World Ride provides the perfect opportunity to share that feeling with someone new to motorcycling by inviting them to join in as a passenger.”
