„JUST RIDE“ HARLEY-DAVIDSON WORLD RIDE

„JUST RIDE“ IS THE MOTTO FOR THE HARLEY-DAVIDSON™ WORLD RIDE ON JUNE 27 AND 28, 2015

Two days. Millions of kilometers. A shared passion.

MILWAUKEE (June 2, 2015) – Just ride – just ride. A simple idea that aims to unite motorcyclists around the world, regardless of their age, origin, or preferred motorcycle brand. A slogan that sums up what you need to do to join the ranks of the many thousands Harley-Davidson® Drivers and Harley Owners Group® Members who will be celebrating freedom on the open road on June 27 and 28 this year.

„Some of the best experiences a motorcycle can offer include escaping the daily grind, the joy of riding, and the feeling of freedom that comes with it,“ he says. Ken Ostermann, Harley-Davidson General Manager of Integrated Marketing Operations. „When Harley-Davidson World Ride It's all about getting on your motorcycle, enjoying life, and sharing that amazing feeling with others.“

The idea of Million Mile Monday® was conceived in 2008 by members of the Harley Owners Group born. To enable even more bikers around the world to take part in the event, Harley-Davidson turned it into a two-day event in 2012. World Ride. Last year, participants covered a total of more than 16 million kilometers—men and women, people in small and large groups, and guests from Dealer events around the globe who share a passion for motorcycling. The event will take place over two days in 2015 as well, but this time it will be on a Saturday and Sunday, giving even more people around the world the opportunity to participate.

„The indescribable feeling of freedom associated with riding a motorcycle can change your life,“ says Ken Osterman. „Participation in the World Ride offers the perfect opportunity to share this feeling with someone who doesn't ride a motorcycle yet by inviting them to come along as a passenger.“

It doesn't matter whether you ride through the city or across the country. Every kilometer counts and can be recorded on the odometer at h-d.com/worldride. The program adds up all the kilometers ridden by fans worldwide as part of the World Ride.

After they had collected their kilometers on the „World Ride“-website, participants may download a certificate from the internet. They are also encouraged to share their experiences and photos on social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter (#HDworldride) to share.

The World Ride is by no means the only campaign Harley-Davidson is launching this summer to draw attention to the spirit of motorcycling. This also includes the „Discover More Tour 2015, in which the Frenchman Luis Castilla will embark on the trip of a lifetime on May 26. He was selected from more than 1,000 applicants to take a two-month trip across Europe, financed by Harley-Davidson. The Street Glide Special he will be riding on the trip is provided by Harley-Davidson, and he will even get to keep it after his adventure. Find out more about Luis’ trip at greatestrides.eu, where fans can also create their own dream routes upload. And all the facts about Harley-Davidson World Ride can be found at h-d.com/worldride.
