Latest news on Hamburg Harley Days 2021
After the Hamburg Harley Days event was postponed to August 13–15, there wasn't much news to report from Hamburg. But now we're slowly starting to hear something again, because the team behind the Hamburg Harley Days wants to finally get back on track this year. It won't be easy, as everyone realizes, but according to the organizer, the framework conditions are now in place.
Work is currently underway on the concept, but one of the biggest problems is financing. It is hardly possible to charge the original stand rental fees, as many exhibitors currently have little or no income. The ever-increasing costs of the security concept have already been a burden in previous years, and now the required hygiene concept has been added to ensure that everyone involved can stay on the premises safely, which is also in the interest of the organizer.
Admission is an issue for Hamburg Harley Days
It may well be that the organizer will charge admission; this has not yet been decided, but is currently the subject of heated debate. Harley-Davidson has so far been reluctant to go down this route. One thing is clear: the pandemic will change Hamburg Harley Days, because there is a limit to the number of visitors who can come to the wholesale market. Taking into account a sophisticated hygiene concept, the event could well take place based on current considerations.
Admission would simplify processing and access, as well as covering a large part of the costs. Another interesting effect would be that, if the admission option were chosen, part of the revenue would be invested in the quality of the event. Then the organizers would want to offer visitors even more, according to the organizer.
The idea is to use a software solution via an app with a QR code to gain access to the site. This would be the quickest and easiest solution if you want to drive or walk to the Hamburg Harley Days site at the Großmarkt. This would be the easiest way for visitors to pay their fee and be registered as visitors. It is assumed that more will be possible again in August in general, so let's hope for the best.
We want to hear your opinion!
The Harley community doesn't really believe that it will actually happen in August, but it would be nice if things turned out differently this time. Would you rather have Harley Days with an entrance fee, or none at all? And if so, what's on your wish list? What would you like to see more of?
Feel free to leave your opinion in the comments section below.

Harley Days must definitely take place. Admission is okay, up to €20 per person for me. Infection rates are continuing to fall, more and more people are being vaccinated, and I'm really tired of the restrictions. MoGo, concerts/festivals = all canceled. Harley Days is our only hope of having a good time together again. I spent the winter restoring my 34-year-old Harley, so I'd like to show it off 😎
Of course I'd be there, even if there was an entrance fee! It should fit into the budget 😎 I'm already looking forward to the event and lots of nice encounters this year 🇩🇪🇺🇸
Of course you're charging admission! It benefits everyone! Power on!
An admission fee is perfectly fine. I'm coming for the first time this year as a visitor to check it out. Next year, I'll be coming on my Harley. Stay tuned. Dirk
Hello, I think a reasonable admission price is OK, but not 50 euros. Not every Harley rider is a millionaire; some have to save up for their hobby. I'm traveling 600 km to get here, and on top of that, hotel costs are much higher this weekend. Please don't turn this into an event for celebrities; make it affordable for every motorcyclist. Best regards, Joachim
I have been visiting Harley Days Hamburg since 2009 and would be happy to pay a small fee for this atmosphere and this event, as long as it remains reasonable. It has always been a pleasure to be there and it would be great if it were possible again. Hang in there...
What about hotels/accommodation? Can they also participate until then?
I don't feel like going home in the morning and coming back in the evening. I need to stay overnight.
Best regards, Klaus
Let's assume that's the case. The situation is improving at the moment. Hotels in Schleswig-Holstein will reopen on May 17, and it won't be long before Hamburg follows suit.
Howdy, everyone! Admission should be no problem for Harley enthusiasts, and for those who are concerned about surveillance via apps, I would suggest disconnecting from smartphones, the internet, TV, and other devices.
We should definitely be mindful of making our presence felt. After all, we bikers are a thorn in the side of many, and if we let an opportunity slip by, in 2022 we might hear: “You didn't want it last year either."
So, I think, hop on the bike and let's go 😎🤘
Greetings, Andi
Trade fair admission prices are acceptable. I would decline to use an online ticket provider, as I have often not received a refund in the event of cancellation.
But what about the rules? Few participants, mandatory masks, proof of vaccination, rapid or PCR tests, etc.?
...for me, NO THANKS:
Riding a Harley means pure freedom!
This is not compatible with the legal restrictions.
No problem. I would be happy to contribute up to 50 euros. Be careful with app solutions. As an IT person, I can only warn against them. If the app doesn't work, the whole thing can quickly fall apart. Besides, there isn't enough time. An IT project of this size requires a year of planning and implementation. Be careful, I can only warn you.
I think the admission fee is very reasonable and worth spending a few euros on. After all, it's also about preservation.
It would be great if that worked out.
The vaccinations are progressing, and it's about time.
Admission is fine; if I ride my Harley, I'll shell out the few bucks for this awesome event.
Harald
How about a donation instead of an admission fee?!
Crowdfunding by friends of Harley ….
I would buy a day ticket... And of course the Days have to take place. What else is there for us to do?
... won't I miss the lively „chaos“ then?!? But I think it's great that it's starting up again (-:
I would also be very happy to pay admission to Hamburg Harley Days. However, for personal reasons, I can only attend Hamburg Harley Days on one day. There should also be day tickets available for Hamburg Harley Days.
If you have a Harley heart, paying admission isn't even an issue. The main thing is that it takes place. You deserve it. And we want HarleyDays.
I understand that the stall operators need to be compensated, but visitors have also been/are still on short-time work for a long time, with financial losses. So the admission fee should be as reasonable as possible. But I think it's questionable to hold a large event at this point in time. Besides, I'm not going to install any app; we're already monitored enough. In any case, I will not be joining the crowds this year.
Hello Wolfgang, if it comes to that, a happy medium will have to be found somewhere, because you are right, of course, that many of the visitors are also suffering from the pandemic. We're talking about August, which is still a few months away. We want to avoid crowds, like in front of a big stage. As already mentioned in the article, in the interest of health, there will be a sophisticated hygiene concept in place so that such things can be avoided as far as possible.
Admission, yes. But masks or any kind of „app“ are completely out of the question for me.
In my opinion, it depends heavily on the restrictions on freedom that will be in place at that time. I cannot (and do not want to) imagine the HHD with mandatory masks and severely restricted visitor numbers. A moderate admission fee would be acceptable if it were used to relieve the burden on stall operators, who have had little or no opportunity to earn money for some time.
Hello, we are from Freising near Munich and have already booked rooms to be on the safe side, with a code for the premises, which is great, and admission would be okay for us, no problem. By August, many people will certainly have been vaccinated.
We would agree to a flat-rate expense allowance. Day ticket or for 3 days.
I would be willing to pay an entrance fee. Up to 50 euros for all days is not a lot of money. We ride machines that cost money, so we shouldn't be stingy when it comes to admission fees. But if Harley objects, the company should pay the additional costs in full, as well as the largest portion of the stand rental fees. After almost two years without events, stand operators who make their living from these events have also been hit hard enough.
Perhaps Harley-Davidson got the wrong impression. They want to avoid it, not because they are stingy, but because they are actually against it. But if they accommodate the stand operators in return, it will work out somehow.
Even with (moderate) admission fees, I'm in!
I am against charging admission. If everyone is supposed to contribute, then please include everyone, such as landlords, security services, breweries, and the big players in the industry. And, since it is a Harley promotional event, Harley should also bear a larger share of the costs. I believe that many people will not come if there is an admission fee, and that will be at the expense of the stands and restaurateurs. We have always been there for three days and spent a lot of money each time, but with an entrance fee, we might only go once. That would then be at the expense of the shops and restaurants. It didn't work at the Harley open-air cinema event either. I would think twice about it.
The cinema number was just promoted too late, and not everyone knows about it. I couldn't really imagine it either, but I was there and I thought it was totally awesome.
With limited attendance and hygiene measures, it's not what it should be...
I'll be back when this shit is over... and I'll pay admission too.
Admission is OK.
It works perfectly in Rüdesheim.
Admission is acceptable, but within reason. Maximum $15.00 per day or $20.00 for the entire event!
Yes, of course... but not 50 euros.
Admission is okay within reasonable limits.
Admission would be perfectly fine. Greetings from Swabia
Great thoughts and suggestions 👍 I'd be there 🙋🏻♀️
Admission wouldn't be a problem... You have to think about the retailers, who have had enough losses... It should definitely take place.
I would of course pay an admission fee. I would find up to 50 euros reasonable 😍
Best regards from Munich
At €50, we'd probably both celebrate alone 🙂
Then there would be three of us. Even at €50 for all days, it's still not a big deal. Honestly, who hasn't spent €50 on something stupid? Ultimately, it benefits everyone.
If only it had been €50 that I wasted 🙂
