LiveWire maxi scooter planned in cooperation with Kymco
LIVEWIRE AND KYMCO UNDERLINE THEIR STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH A NEW AGREEMENT TO EXPAND THE LIVEWIRE S2 PORTFOLIO

The result of the cooperation will be an electric LiveWire maxi-scooter, which is set to be launched on the market in the first half of 2026.
MILAN/FRANKFURT (05.11.2024) - LiveWire, a leading brand in electric motorcycles, and the renowned scooter and quad manufacturer Kymco are expanding their strategic partnership with the development of an electrically powered maxi-scooter for the European market. Both companies are contributing their individual strengths to their first joint project. The basis is the drivetrain of the LiveWire S2.

LiveWire plans to launch its first E-Maxi scooter in the first half of 2026. Customers can look forward to an electric riding experience that combines the benefits of a large scooter with the power and range of the LiveWire S2 powertrain. Developed by LiveWire and Kymco, the E-Maxi scooter is designed to offer a successful synthesis of a commuter-friendly vehicle and the impressive power of the electric drive to new customers looking for adventure both in the city and beyond the city limits.
With the new agreement, the two companies are expanding their cooperation, which came about as part of Kymco's financial investment in LiveWire in 2022.
Karim Donnez, CEO of LiveWire, explains: „We have always been sure that our S2 Arrow platform is the ideal basis for designing a first-class maxi scooter. Kymco, with its great expertise in this segment, is now helping us to turn this conviction into a real vehicle. We look forward to embarking on this journey with a world-renowned market leader in this segment.“

Kymco is one of the leading manufacturers of premium scooters with combustion engines and also has extensive experience with smaller electrically powered scooters and the associated business models. This expertise in the scooter segment adds a new dimension to LiveWire's portfolio and underpins the company's global reputation in the field of electric mobility.
Kymco can look back on numerous innovations and forward-looking marketing strategies and offers a wide range of services. Kymco innovations in the field of electric mobility include the RevoNex, a powerful, electrically powered street motorcycle based on the LiveWire S2 platform, and the Ionex, a smaller electric scooter with a new battery swap system.
Allen Ko, Chairman of the Kymco Group, comments: „LiveWire is one of the leading companies in the field of urban mobility. We look forward to working with them on the development of an electric maxi-scooter based on the S2.“
The premium electric maxi scooter newly developed by LiveWire and Kymco will not only transfer the power and range of the LiveWire S2 drivetrain to the scooter segment, but also offers the prospect of a new design language from the American company. The plans are for the vehicle to be sold worldwide in the first half of 2026.
