LIVEWIRE WINS ALTAIR LIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION AWARD 2020
The Altair Enlighten Award 2020 is presented annually by “ALTAIR – CENTER FOR AUTOMOTIVE RESEARCH”. Previously, this award tended to go to the automotive industry, but now Harley-Davidson with the electrically powered LiveWire . The award is about lightweight construction and performance in relation to weight. Harley-Davidson was able to increase the power capacity of the LIveWire by 90% while improving the mass ratio by 60%.
Leading award and recognition – reducing vehicle weight and achieving emissions targets
In general, the LiveWire does not have a good reputation among Harley-Davidson fans, but you still have to recognize the development and technical progress of Harley-Davidson in this area. They spent many years developing the LiveWire and simply did a good job. Because in terms of driving technology and the overall concept it is really very good and as a fan of traditional drives you can easily admit that.
As already mentioned, Altair usually gives out awards in the car industry and just being nominated would be an international award, and now they have even won in their class. You don't have to like the technology and LiveWire, but you have to respect the performance!
