The Low Rider S 117 High Output is the purist and sporty sister of the Low Rider ST. Without fairing and with its powerful Milwaukee-Eight 117 High Output engine, it embodies the classic cruiser spirit with modern performance. It offers everything you would expect from a sporty Harley-Davidson model: powerful acceleration, agile handling, and a minimalist, uncompromising look.
Design and colors
The design of the Low Rider S is minimalistic and focused. Instead of the fairing of the ST version, it shows off the engine and frame in all their glory. The Black finish gives it an aggressive and stylish look that perfectly underscores the character of the machine.
The color selection offers several impressive options:
- Billiard Gray
- Vivid Black
- Brilliant Red (+$700 surcharge)
- Iron Horse Metallic (+$700 surcharge)
- Mystic Shift (+$1,650 surcharge)
All colors feature a black finish; a chrome option is not available for the Low Rider S.

At the heart of the Low Rider S beats the new Milwaukee-Eight 117 High Output Engine, who, with 1923 cm³ and 93 hp was placed at the top of the Softail range.

My personal impression
The Low Rider S 117 is a powerful bike for riders looking for an uncompromising cruiser with sporty performance. I particularly like the combination of the high-output engine and the minimalist, aggressive look. My personal choice if you want to stand out from the crowd? Mystic Shift in black finish – this color once again shows that Harley-Davidson has the courage to use color. The Low Rider S 117 also has a very strong chassis, which is nothing new for this model, as it has already excelled in previous model years.
