The Low Rider ST 117 High Output is a model that stands out from the crowd and sets new standards in the cruiser segment. Harley-Davidson has succeeded in combining the classic Low Rider line with modern technology and more power. The new Milwaukee-Eight 117 High Output Engine not only delivers more power, but also gives the bike a sportier look that sets it apart from other models in the Cruiser (Softail) series.
What sets the Low Rider ST apart is its unique design, which is reminiscent of the iconic FXRT fairing while also being aerodynamically optimized. According to Harley-Davidson, the taller fairing screens noticeably reduce turbulence, which could significantly increase comfort on longer rides. Harley-Davidson has done a great job here of balancing function and appearance.
Another highlight is the popular Heavy Breather Air Filter, which not only makes a visual statement but also maximizes the engine's performance. Added to this is a Two-in-one exhaust system, which will hopefully provide a robust sound, but we will have to wait and see. An extended central spring strut, which increases the lean angle and is intended to make the handling even sportier, has been added to the 2025 model.
The Low Rider ST 117 is available in several impressive colors, including Midnight Firestorm, a color that is particularly eye-catching in the black finish. These paint finishes emphasize the sporty, modern lines of the bike and make it a highlight for anyone who values performance and style.
With this model, Harley-Davidson demonstrates that the Softail series still has potential for innovation. The Low Rider ST is equipped with the new Milwaukee-Eight® 117 High Output (H.O.) Equipped with an engine that offers improved performance in the mid and upper speed ranges. With an increased maximum speed of 5,900 rpm, it enables longer acceleration and delivers an impressive output of 85 kW (116 hp) at 5,020 rpm and a torque of 173 Nm at 4,000 rpm.
The frame-mounted fairing on the Low Rider ST is inspired by the classic FXRT models and was developed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for optimal aerodynamics. The new, clear windshield is taller than on other models and reduces helmet turbulence by up to 60 percent, significantly increasing riding comfort.
An extended central spring strut lifts the rear and provides additional lean angle for sporty cornering. The front suspension consists of a 43 mm upside-down fork with aluminum triple clamps and a single-rate spring, which ensures precise handling.
The Low Rider ST features a new four-inch display positioned below the speedometer in an analog design, showing important information such as the current riding mode, the gear selected, and tire pressure alerts. The new hand controls allow you to select between three available riding modes and include a repositioned high-beam switch and an adjustable brake lever. There is also a USB-C port for charging devices while riding.

The Low Rider ST 117 would definitely be my favorite if my heart hadn't already been stolen by the CVO Road Glide I particularly like the fact that Harley-Davidson has equipped the Low Rider ST with the High Output Motor clearly stands out from other cruisers. This gives it exactly the extra something it needs.
A real highlight for me remains the Heavy Breather Air Filter – Visually, it's simply top-notch, and at my height of 1.83 m, it doesn't get in the way.
Its compact yet sporty appearance makes it perfect for winding country roads, where it can really show off its strengths.
If I had to choose a color, it would probably be Midnight Firestorm in Black Finish. This look perfectly emphasizes the sporty lines of the Low Rider ST.
