Season finale in Mallorca
The Mallorca Bike Week was once again completely booked
Short flight times, wonderful beaches and lots of sunshine make Mallorca the Germans' favorite island. Not only golfers, cyclists and mountaineers, but also motorcycle fans know that this holiday paradise beyond the tourist hotspots offers much more than that.
Winding streets stretch between bays and gorges, winding through ancient villages, wide plains and over high passes - this is also typically Mallorquin.
Since 2006, Harley-Davidson fans have been experiencing this beautiful side of the picturesque island at the Mallorca Bike Week, while at home rain and cold herald the German winter.
From October 31st to November 6th 2011 it was that time again: 475 participants enjoyed a week of pure motorcycling fun on mountain routes and coastal roads. The organizer SKS-Reisen ensured that they and their 350 machines got to the island and guaranteed an all-round, worry-free service on site as well as a pure feel-good atmosphere.
The event's traditional base camp, the Robinson Club Cala Serena on the southeast coast of the island, also contributed to this. The cuisine of the exclusive complex, located directly by the sea, pampered the palate with international dishes and Mallorcan specialties, while body and mind benefited from numerous WellFit and sports offers.
We enjoyed the guided and free tours of the fascinating island on the bike during the day and didn't let the rain that started on Friday spoil our fun. A number of guests also took advantage of the tempting offer to personally test the 2012 Harley models on a test drive. In the evenings, people celebrated in the theater, in the disco or at the bar. This year's live gig list was enriched by “Germany's oldest up-and-coming rock band”, the Lickin' Boyz. The eight medical friends from Frankfurt and the surrounding area not only rocked out with energy, but also traditionally donated their fees to a good cause.
Thanks to additional donations from Bike Week guests, SKS and Harley-Davidson, the Bärenherz Foundation, Wiesbaden, which supports hospices for children, can now look forward to a donation of 2,500 euros.
The next Mallorca Bike Week takes place from November 5th to 11th, 2012, and it is guaranteed to be fully booked in no time... Further information can be found at SKS-Reisen on +49 (0)2623 964690 or at www.mallorca-bike-week.de .
