Cooperation agreed with previous organizer
(Erfurt, July 9, 2024) Messe Erfurt GmbH will become the new organizer of the Erfurt Motor Show (AME) and the Erfurt Motorcycle Show (MME) from 2025. By taking over these two events, Messe Erfurt is not only securing two trade fairs that are very well positioned in central Germany and are growing again after the coronavirus pandemic, but is also further expanding its expertise in organizing and staging B2C trade fairs by acquiring Germany's largest regional auto show and one of the leading motorcycle shows in central Germany.
„It is with great pride and confidence that we are handing over the Erfurt Motor Show and the Erfurt Motorcycle Show to Messe Erfurt GmbH after 16 and 24 years of successful joint development. This step is a strategic decision for the future of these two important events,“ says Matthias Andrzejak, Managing Director of SP Veranstaltungs- und Handels GmbH and previous organizer of the two trade fairs. He adds: „Under the direction of Messe Erfurt GmbH, we expect further development and sustainable expansion.

Even after their enforced break due to the coronavirus pandemic, AME and MME remained on track for success, recording new record figures in terms of both exhibitor and visitor response in 2023 and 2024.
With 29,500 visitors could the Erfurt Motor Show to hold its 16th edition in 2024 which Increase visitor numbers again compared to the previous year and show that, in times of various trade fair cancellations and uncertainty in the industry, automotive trade fairs have their place. It was able to consolidate its position as the most important and largest trade fair in central Germany for mobility, automobiles, and tuning.
This year, AME was the only major automotive trade fair in Germany. This is also underscored by the large catchment area of the trade fair. Thanks to Erfurt's excellent transport links in the heart of Germany, some visitors traveled more than 250 km to the Erfurt exhibition grounds.
A Record number of 37 automotive brands and over 130 exhibitors covering over 30,000 square meters, several trade fair premieres, The key to success was having the most important brand dealers in one place and an attractive supporting program and show program with many highlights. The two-wheeler market continues to grow. This was demonstrated by the 24th Erfurt Motorcycle Fair in March this year. Last year's visitor record was narrowly missed, with around 20,000 visitors in 2024. Nevertheless, the MME had a positive impact on the upcoming two-wheel season again this year. Just under 30 brand exhibitors from the motorcycle, scooter, quad, and trike sectors presented their products on 18,000 square meters of exhibition space in the halls and on the outdoor grounds.
