You have to hand it to Harley-Davidson, the Pan America accessories program is extensive and was already online before the Pan America was launched. This must be the case, as it is obviously in great demand.

There has been a real run on the Adventure Tourer from Harley-Davidson. In a Harleysite interview, Roger Gierz, one of the managing directors of Harley-Davidson Hamburg Nord, said;

„In all my years at Harley-Davidson, I've never seen customers order a new Harley-Davidson model in this form before they've even seen it in real life.“

At the moment, only the Papp America is available in the stores of authorized dealers. At some dealerships, a Pan America demo model is being passed around, which was probably created in a 3D printer. This is why some of the fittings on the Pan America 3D do not look as high-quality as they will be on the production vehicle. But it is certainly interesting to get a small impression of it in advance.

This phenomenon of high demand for the Pan America has also been reported to me by other H-D dealers, some of whom have already sold half their stock. There are a noticeable number of new customers who have never owned a Harley-Davidson before. Well, we'll see if the Pan America is actually as good as the spec sheet predicts. In any case, the components installed are really good, especially the chassis, I'm looking forward to the first test rides with the Pan America 1250 Special.

The accessories program is already online on the Harley-Davidson website, there's just one catch! The Pan America Special in particular already has almost everything on board, so you won't miss much at first. The kickstand would be one of the first things you need on an Enduro, but the Special already comes with everything you need. Something will be found.

Adaptive Ride Height Pan America

One highlight is the adaptive suspension, which lowers itself shortly before stopping. This is unique in its class.

Nobody expected this, the idea behind it is simply that you always have a firm grip when stopping in any situation. Even small bikers will be able to cope with the Pan America. In combination with the Showa suspension and the upside-down fork, it's a pretty perfect solution.

Despite the good standard equipment, there is still room for improvement, for example the additional daymakers, a lot of light never hurts, especially on rough roads good illumination is an advantage.

The normal light output in combination with the bend lighting is already impressive, but the additional headlights are very helpful on unfamiliar routes or in fog.

PAN AMERICA SCREAMIN‘ EAGLE STREET CANNON SILENCER

The Screamin Eagle silencer looks a lot better, let's hope that it is also available in Germany with EC approval. The matte-brushed exhaust catches the eye significantly, materials made of titanium and stainless steel have been used, the end cap is made of carbon fiber. It should produce a deeper and sportier sound and ensure a significant weight reduction of up to 42%.

The tank bag for the Pan America

Especially on long tours, you don't want to do without a tank bag despite having a suitcase. Whether it's drinks, coins/cards for toll booths abroad, where you need to get your money quickly, or to take a look at a conventional map. You'll always find something you need within easy reach.

There is a rain cover for the tank bag, the inside is orange, so you can still see something in low light conditions. The dividers and the carrying handle are also practical, so everything doesn't slide around when you take the tank bag down after the tour.

On long tours, I like to use a tank bag to store all the important things I need to get to in my tent or accommodation.

 

Pan America underride guard

A complete off-road protection for the substructure of the Pan America. It not only protects against stones or impacts, but also looks good. The design of the underguard plate brings even more lines to the Harley-Davidson adventure bike.

Pan America lamp grille, crash bar and case holder

We'll have to wait and see if the lamp grilles are approved for the Pan America, otherwise they can always be used for racing purposes. If you build something in front of the headlight, it's not always so easy, we'll see, at least it looks cool.

The Pan America spoked rims and Michelin tires

The Harley-Davidson / Michelin Scorcher Adventure tire

Michelin is the original equipment manufacturer and has two tire models in its range. The Harley-Davidson / Michelin Scorcher Adventure tire is fitted at the factory in the sizes 120/70R19 - front and 170/60R17 - rear. Harley-Davidson has tested this tire on the Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special models. The completely redesigned tread pattern ensures optimum traction on the road and off-road.

The Michelin Bridge Block Technology and the Michelin 2CT+ Technology of the rear tire ensure optimum performance on the road. The Michelin Dual Compound Technology, in combination with the tread pattern and optimized contour, ensures excellent performance and a long service life.

New silica compounds ensure excellent wet grip. I'm particularly excited about the wet, which hasn't been the Scorcher series' parade discipline so far, but they have very good grip on dry roads.

The optimized tread depth and the new rubber compound make the tire more resistant to damage and more durable. The tread pattern is inspired by the Dakar-winning MICHELIN Desert Race. Pan America disk

The Pan America windshield is available in two versions

Harley-Davidson has two additional discs for the Pan America in its program. The windshields are each 11 cm lower than the standard version and do not affect the height adjustment. If you are a little shorter, it will be easier to see over the windshield.

The problem with tinted windows is as follows: if you often drive at night, visibility is correspondingly poorer, especially in bad weather, due to the tinted window, but visually it is a gain.
