"Time Free" - Your base for motorcycle tours on the Baltic Sea
In May, I was on the road again with my buddy Hermann, this time in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In Steffenshagen we have the accommodation Time free tested for their suitability for biking.
Hermann is with his „Lotte“, as he would his old Shovel lovingly called on the road, I am the tour on the current CVO Road Glide approached. I admit it was a somewhat unequal team, but my buddy's CVO Limited needed its service and so he had made Lotte clear.
I actually ride something old myself, but for me it's the other way around, I haven't reassembled my EVO yet. So we both set off as it was, he with the old Harley generation and I with the new one. We came from the direction of Fehmarn, for us the tour to the vicinity of Rostock counts as a stone's throw.
We arrived quickly in Rostock in perfect weather, it's that feeling that comes up when you're finally on the road with your buddy, time is basically a minor matter. Our first stop is at the Harley dealer Stacking factory in Rostock. If we're already in the neighborhood, we'd like to say hello.
After we had cleared the coffee bar and Hermann couldn't get past the dealer shirt, which he absolutely had to buy, we made our way to the harbor of Rostock and stopped at Carsten's, in the CarLo615 We went for a bite to eat right on the water, it's a very nice location. And who would have thought it, Carsten, who runs the restaurant, is a Harley biker himself.
After dinner, we made our way to Steffenshagen. You really have to look for this place on the map, but that's also an advantage if you prefer accommodation that offers good value for money. The small but beautiful village of Steffenshagen is located between the tourist strongholds Kühlungsborn and Rügen.

Imagine the evening: You and your buddies, hanging out together on the terrace of „Steffi's farm store“ off. Barbecue on, a cold beer in your hand - it couldn't be better. And when it slowly gets cooler, gather in the lounge of the farm store by the open fire. This is where the stories of the day are exchanged - a real biker feeling is created.
At least that's always the case with us when we're out and about. We're usually loud, we laugh and talk, so we've had a bit of trouble here and there :-).

Yes, that's part of it, we like to laugh about what we've experienced together and after every trip, a new story is added! That's why we pay meticulous attention to these points.

The eleven apartments are spacious and stylishly furnished, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Anyone who has been paying attention will have read that there are eleven apartments available on the farm. With a small group, you can quickly fill them up, which can mean that in the evening you're more likely to be under the whole farm. You have free access to everything, even if Steffi from the farm store is already at home. You can take what you need and pay the next day or directly via Paypal. It's all ingenious and simple, you can still trust each other here!
That's also how it works with the beer, by the way, you take it and write it down. Barbecue and charcoal are available, you can do it yourself and organize yourself, if you want to fire a bag of charcoal every day, you will have to talk to Steffi, everything can be arranged easily.
The host is a Harley rider himself
The host, Mario Bobsin, brings a personal touch to the hospitality experience. After years in the international timber business, he returned to create „Zeitfrei“ - a place that reflects his passion for quality and hospitality. Guests appreciate his reliable and friendly manner and enjoy the personally told stories that enrich the vacation experience.
And of course Mario is a Harley biker himself and is part of the Harley-Davidson steel factory in Rostock. Now the whole thing turns into a shoe, why bikers are very welcome at the Zeifrei Hof and how I came across this gem in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the first place. He himself knows what bikers need when they are traveling. The garage, which is often more important than the bed, is usually at the top of the list.
Here in the country, all is still well with the world, but of course there is a large lockable garage where everyone can keep their motorcycle can be accommodated. In addition, you have short distances and you can drive up to the door to load and unload, or you can take the short route directly to the garage. Especially in bad weather, you can tie everything down without stress.
„Zeitfrei not only offers comfortable accommodation, but also a wide range of activities in the surrounding area. There are plenty of hotspots and points where you can find relaxed coffee and cake. A short hop to the Baltic Sea beach, where the particularly white sea sand is, can't hurt either - there's something for everyone here.
We went for a coffee in Kühlungsborn, where we met Martin in his very well-stocked shop. Lifestyle Boots Store for a visit. In the store, he has his own Harley-Davidson and a first-class premium brand, including Stetson hats, Rokker, Sendra boots, The original Biker Boot and Elf Craft jewelry, which he can present on around 40 square meters.
Of course, a visit to the Harley Dealer Stacking factory in Rostock and when you've worked up an appetite for coffee and cake again, head to the lighthouse in Bastorf, where you can enjoy a sweeping view of the Baltic Sea. There is a large selection of cakes here.
We only did very short tours and were invited to the restaurant in Steffenshagen for a barbecue. It's hard to believe, but our base town has a large church, the aforementioned inn and a bakery where you can either get fresh bread rolls in the morning or have breakfast directly at the bakery, as we did. It's another one of our quirks: when we're on tour, we never go any further until we've treated ourselves to a proper breakfast at the bakery.
Overall, „Zeitfrei“ is more than just a place to stay; it is an opportunity to relax in the midst of nature, experience the local culture and feel at home, supported by the warm hospitality of the host and his team. The accommodation, the place and the area get an absolute recommendation from us! It won't be the last time we've been here, because despite the beautiful weather, we didn't drive enough. But it was still nice to enjoy quality time with our best buddy in such beautiful surroundings!
