Horrifying results from motorcycle checks in the Harz Mountains
Goslar: Yesterday, large-scale traffic controls took place in the western Harz region as part of the traffic safety initiative “Safely through the Harz”.
In cooperation with the Goslar district and TÜV-Nord, the “Task Force Motorcycle” at the Goslar police station carried out speed and general traffic checks at various measuring and control points.
The main focus was on the driving behavior of the motorcyclists and the technical condition of their machines.
The best external conditions also generally ensured a brisk excursion traffic in the Harz. The Goslar police had warned in advance in the press and on social media about possible road contamination caused by timber transport.
A large number of “unteachable people” who ignored the legal regulations despite the safety instructions must now answer for their misconduct.
Of the 240 speeding violations, 115 violations resulted in fines. 175 violations were committed by motorcyclists. 19 two-wheeler riders even have to expect a driving ban straight away.
In addition, the control staff registered 36 violations of the overtaking ban and 28 design changes, two of which led to a ban on further driving.
Below are the outstanding violations of the inspection day:
For example, a Harley-Davidson had been so badly modified through various modifications and additions that, in the worst case scenario, the brakes would have failed completely and traffic safety was therefore no longer guaranteed. Further travel was prohibited on site and the driver had to have the motorcycle taken home by a towing company.
At around 12:15 p.m., the measuring officers conducting a laser inspection on the B498 discovered a prohibited motor vehicle race between two motorcyclists, 23 and 24 years old, from Berlin.
When they were both supposed to be stopped at the checkpoint on the B498, one of them turned his motorcycle around and tried to evade the checkpoint by running away. The man was stopped and checked by support staff on the B498. Criminal proceedings were initiated against both motorcyclists for a prohibited motor vehicle race and their driving licenses were confiscated on site.
It was also discovered that the 23-year-old did not have the required driving license class, so further criminal proceedings were initiated against him for driving without the required driving license.
On the B498 a motorcyclist was clocked at 153 km/h in the 60 km/h zone, in the area of the so-called “Bruchberg” a motorcyclist was clocked at 169 km/h in the 100 km/h zone there and on the B241 , at the height of “Alte Straßenmeisterei”, a motorcyclist reached a reproachable speed of 161 km/h in the 70 km/h zone.
The control results show that such control measures are still necessary to increase traffic safety in the Harz.

Great, all motorcycle riders are labeled with such sensationalist reports.
How many StVO compliant drivers did you count? No plan, right? Always have a good trip friends
The police counted, opinions differ and the report is from the police.
