More motorcycle thefts in the Mettmann district, this time including a Harley!

As the Mettmann district police authority has already reported several times in the recent past, there has already been an increase in motorcycle thefts from underground garages in several towns in the Mettmann district in recent days and weeks. In the period from 4.30 p.m. on Friday afternoon, February 17, to 7.15 a.m. on Saturday morning, February 19, 2022, the police Now two machines have been stolen again - this time from a Underground car park in Monheim am Rhein.
During this time, as yet unknown criminals had gained access to a normally locked underground parking garage at Krischerstraße 87. There, the thieves stole a two-year-old, black Harley-Davidson, Type Breakout 114, license plate SG-DA 85, with a current value of around 40,000 euros, and a two-year-old blue Yamaha, type YZF-R3 (RH12, license plate OP-L 123, with a current value of around 6,000 euros.
How the perpetrators gained access to the underground car park, which is secured by a roller door and can only be accessed with keys, is currently still under police investigation. In order to steal the motorcycles, which were secured with steering wheel locks and, in some cases, additional locks and alarm systems, they were probably loaded into a vehicle of the appropriate size, which is still unknown, and driven away.
So far, the Monheim police have no concrete leads on the vehicle thieves or the whereabouts of the stolen motorcycles. Police search and investigation measures in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene have been initiated, but have not yet yielded any positive results. Criminal proceedings and further investigations by the Monheim police have been initiated, and both motorcycles and their license plates have been listed for international search. The criminal investigation department is urgently seeking witnesses in the course of its investigations and is therefore asking:
„Did anyone notice anything suspicious in the area of the Monheim underground parking garage on Krischerstraße during the time period mentioned, or observe any vehicles or a van and people who do not normally belong there?“
