Motorcycle thieves on the move during Magic Bike
Rüdesheim, 21.06.2019 to 22.06.2019,
In addition to numerous bikers and visitors, the Magic Bike event in Rüdesheim unfortunately also attracted thieves who were after the high-quality motorcycles.
A unique piece was stolen
Four motorcycle thefts and two failed thefts have been reported to the police so far. On Friday night alone, the perpetrators struck twice in Rheinstraße and stole a blue and white Harley-Davidson with the license plate KÜN-BD 9 and a black Harley-Davidson with the license plate HB-CQ 10.
On Friday evening, a motorcycle parked in Wilhelmstraße was discovered to have been stolen. The Belgian license plate MANK 689 was last attached to the unique motorcycle.
The fourth theft took place in the courtyard of a hotel in Marktstraße on Saturday night. In this case, the thieves stole a matt red and black Harley-Davidson with the registration number LU-BO 18. The total value of the four stolen bikes amounts to over 160,000 euros.
Theft was unsuccessful
An attempted theft took place on Saturday night between 11 p.m. and 1.35 a.m. in a parking lot in the street „An der Ringmauer“. Unknown persons had unsuccessfully attempted to steal a high-quality motorcycle from the manufacturer Dragster. On Saturday night, the perpetrators also tampered with a car trailer on which two Harley-Davidson motorcycles were parked in the area of Adolf-Kohl-Platz. However, there was no theft in this case either.
Thief tried to relieve a stall and was caught and fled
In addition to the motorcycle thefts, there was also a robbery in Rheinstraße on Saturday night. A security guard caught a young man stealing various items of clothing from the sales stand of a motorcycle dealer at around 03:20.
The man who was caught then pushed the security guard aside and fled over a wall in the direction of Oberstraße without any loot. Further stolen goods were found in the area of the escape route, which had obviously already been laid out there ready to be taken away.
The dark-clad thief is said to have been around 20 years old, about 1.80 meters tall, athletic and had a narrow face and short, dark hair. He is also said to have spoken with a Dutch dialect.
