Motorcyclist falls in a traffic jam, is run over by the caravan and dies in hospital from his injuries.

On Sunday, July 28th, 2019, around 1:15 p.m. there was a traffic accident on the BAB 7, AD Kirchheim - AD Hattenbach, Niederaula district, Hersfeld Rotenburg district, southbound, with a seriously injured person.

A 55-year-old motorcyclist from the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district was driving his Yamaha motorcycle in the second lane in the direction of Frankfurt/Main. At the AD Hattenbach, there was traffic congestion in the direction of Frankfurt. As a result, a road user in front braked his vehicle and then drove off again.

The motorcyclist also braked and lost control of the motorcycle. As a result, the motorcyclist fell, got into the right lane and was hit between the towing vehicle and the trailer and rolled over by a caravan traveling sideways in the same direction, which was at the motorcyclist's level.

The motorcyclist was seriously injured in the collision with the caravan. First aid measures were immediately initiated by first aiders.

Emergency medical care was then provided at the scene of the accident. The motorcyclist who was involved in the accident was then taken to the Marburg Clinic by a rescue helicopter that was also deployed and succumbed to his most serious injuries in the Marburg Clinic.

The public prosecutor's office in Fulda ordered the creation of an expert report on the circumstances of the accident.
