Traffic accident with a motorcyclist killed on the L 21 in Wustrow

On May 9th, 2021 at around 4:45 p.m. there was a serious traffic accident between a car and a motorcycle on the L 21 in 18347 Ostseebad Wustrow. The 34-year-old German driver of a Seat car was driving on the L 21 from Ribnitz-Damgarten towards Wustrow. At the entrance to Wustrow he turned left onto Lindenstrasse.

He overlooked the 63-year-old German driver of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle who was in oncoming traffic. Both vehicles collided. The motorcyclist was so seriously injured that he died at the scene of the accident as a result of his injuries. The four occupants of the car were slightly injured. The material damage caused by the accident amounts to approximately EUR 23,000. Both vehicles involved had to be towed.

While the accident was being recorded, half of the L 21 had to be closed. However, vehicle traffic was able to be diverted past the scene of the accident. The traffic accident was witnessed by a radio patrol car crew from the Ribnitz-Damgarten police station. At the time of the accident, they were driving directly behind the person who caused the accident
