Traffic accident between motorcycle and car

On August 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., a traffic accident occurred on the B96 between Bergen and Lietzow, resulting in personal injury and property damage. According to current information, the 36-year-old driver of a Volvo passenger car was traveling on the B96 from Bergen toward Lietzow. At the exit to the municipal depot, the car had to stop due to traffic conditions. The 41-year-old driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle, who was driving directly behind the Volvo car, noticed this too late and performed an emergency brake maneuver.
The motorcyclist fell and the motorcycle slid into the stationary car. The motorcyclist was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to hospital by the emergency services. The motorcycle was no longer roadworthy and was recovered by a towing service. The damage to property amounted to approximately €9,600. Traffic was disrupted for approximately 1.5 hours while the accident was investigated and the motorcycle recovered.
