New custom parts from Rick`s Motorcycles for the Harley-Davidson FXDR 114
The new sporty Harley-Davidson FXDR 114 was presented in September 2018, it is also called the Destroyer and will be on our roads in the future as a V-Rod replacement.
The effort for individual engine concepts that meet our current emissions laws cannot be implemented economically for the traditional company and so the high-torque 114cui V2 engine with over 1.8L displacement was quickly installed off the shelf in the new Softail frame.
In the first few weeks, the eye-catching design of the FXDR 114 caused a lot of conversation. That's exactly how it was with the V-Rod when it first came onto the market.
It only appealed to a small target group and the curve actually only went downwards until later the Night Rod noticeably sharpened the appearance of the V-Rod and the customizers discovered it for themselves.
Anyone who knows NLC's conversions knows what I'm talking about, at some point the curve went up steeply again, suddenly the V-Rod was the ideal bike for conversions, which meant that the prices also rose again.
Until they finally got the new Euro standards out of the running, some Harley-Davidson dealers still had some with daily registration on hold, which were slowly being sold off.
Everything has come to an end and now the FXDR 114 is on the road, for manufacturers of custom parts it is a clear message that parts are needed here.
Apart from its high starting price, the FXDR 114 is already very suitable for good conversions, I'm sure we'll see more from some customizers in the next few months.
Rick's Motorycycles has been busy and already has the first parts for the FXDR 114 in its program. Starting with holders for indicators from Kellermann, you have the opportunity to start small; the small Kellermann indicators definitely stand out visually.
New custom indicator brackets for the Harley-Davidson FXDR 114
Anyone who wants to add a few discreet indicators to their FXDR 114 is faced with the challenge of installing them cleanly and professionally. For this purpose, Rick's has developed brackets with which the original Kellermann indicators can be easily mounted.
The bracket is optimized for the Kellermann indicator Atto and/or Rhombus and fits perfectly to the mounting points of the series brackets.
The fully milled holders are offered coated in matt black and delivered in pairs.
FXDR rear indicator holder
The rear indicators on the FXDR can easily be swapped for much smaller ones. Rick's has developed a holder that is specifically tailored to the Rhombus 3 in 1 from Kellermann.
While the Kellermann turn signals are already approved thanks to the E-mark, the Rick's holder can be used to mount the position of the reflector and turn signal in accordance with the approval regulations.
Rick's offers this holder including a reflector, either in a short version (not TÜV-compliant) or in a longer, approved version. the housing was milled from solid aluminum.
The stainless steel bracket and the housing are delivered with a matt black coating. The scope of delivery includes both the adapter for approval-compliant installation and the short one for all non-EU countries.
FXDR side milled license plate holder long
Anyone who frees the rear of the FXDR 114 series from the dominant bracket must attach the license plate differently. Rick's has developed a particularly beautiful, milled license plate holder for this purpose.
The bracket is milled from solid aluminum and adapts perfectly to the look of the FXDR 114. The holder was designed in accordance with the EU approval regulations and should therefore not cause any complaints throughout the EU.
The scope of delivery also includes Rick's milled base plate with license plate lighting. This can be easily screwed to the holder.
The milled cable channels allow the required connection cables to be laid cleanly and invisibly behind the license plate. The surface is coated in matt black when delivered.
Belt protection for the new Harley-Davidson FXDR 114
Rick's Motorcycles has designed a belt cover specifically for the Harley-Davidson FXDR 114, which scores points with a much more pleasing look. Rick's belt cover is made of stainless steel and offered with a black matte coating.
No changes to the standard swingarm or mounts are required for assembly.
Steel mudguard for the Harley-Davidson FXDR 114
If you want to give the FXDR 114 a slimmer rear, the first thing you should do is free it from the bracket and wheel cover. Rick's has developed a steel mudguard that fits perfectly to the radius of the tire and can still be kept much tighter.
The smooth look is also achieved by additional reinforcement of the edge.
The existing mounting points on the bike are used to mount the Rick's mudguard, so no changes are necessary.
For the installation of indicators and taillights, Rick's also offers a suitable, approved bracket as an option, as well as a suitable side license plate holder.
