Open letter to the Hamburg Senate | Mrs. Hajduk by Frank Possel (Hamburg)
Dear Ms. Hajduk,
I thought that I have been living in a cosmopolitan city for 50 years now that is open and interested in new events that, from a purely economic perspective, are extremely important for my beloved hometown.
At least there has been a nice increase in this area in recent years. The Harley Days had also become established and are not only popular with motorcyclists. In this respect, an important economic aspect for the development of our city.
Now I read that you canceled it. At first I thought it was a joke, but reality caught up with me. You have given your reasons for this, which in my opinion are in no way plausible.
This decision seems as if you don't like motorcyclists in general, and you also don't like "loud Harley riders" who are just a nuisance anyway.
I hope that you are not one of our fellow human beings who hate motorcycles and therefore put forward environmental reasons.
Because these reasons can't be the case, then you would have to cancel the MOGO next, prevent the increasing number of cruise ships from calling and even ban the New Year's Eve fireworks.
But you have made your decision.
I would therefore be pleased if the Harburg district successfully organized this year's Harley Days, that would only be a shift of your "environmental problem" of a few kilometers.
In this sense
Best regards
Frank Possel
