The LiveWire represents an important part of Harley-Davidson . It already offers a powerful electric drive, a fascinating design and numerous advantages in the area of connectivity. Its drivetrain, called HD Revelation, offers high torque from the first wheel revolution and its simple operation allows the rider to fully enjoy dynamic movement and impressive acceleration - the essence of motorcycling.
Acceleration from 0-100 in 3 seconds
The LiveWire accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (96.56 km/h) in 3 seconds and pulls from 60 mph (96.56 km/h) to 80 mph (128.75 km/h) in 1.9 seconds. Its high-capacity battery provides a range of 140 miles (225 km) in the city or 88 miles (142 km) in the combined stop-and-go highway cycle (measured in the MIC City and MIC Combined tests). at 70 mph).
LiveWire with Brembo brakes
The engine's performance is underlined by a chassis that is designed for agile handling both in urban environments and on winding roads beyond the city. Harley-Davidson combines the light metal frame with high-quality Showa chassis components at the front and rear. To ensure excellent braking performance with a clear pressure point, the LiveWire is equipped with Brembo monoblock front brake calipers.
In addition, the LiveWire is equipped with an Electronic Chassis Control (ECC) system that uses cornering ABS, traction control (TCS) and launch control (DSCS) to control the braking forces at the front and rear wheels as well as the torque at the rear wheel must be perfectly coordinated so that the rider maintains optimal control of the motorcycle under all operating conditions. The fully electronic systems feature the latest six-axis motion (IMU) and ABS sensor technology.
Charge on a level 1 charger or on a socket
Charging can be done using an integrated Level 1 charger, which is connected to a household socket via a power cable located under the seat. In this mode, the battery draws power for around 13 miles (21 km) in one hour. This means the LiveWire can be fully charged at night. Alternatively, the machine is charged via a CCS2 IEC Type 2 charging connector (USA: SAE J1772 connector) (Level 2, Level 3 or DC Fast Charge (DCFC) charging).
Customers will find a publicly accessible Fast Charge station at all Harley-Davidson dealers that sell the LiveWire. Level 3 fast charging provides 192 miles (309 km) of power in one hour. The battery can be filled from 0 to 80 percent in just 40 minutes or from 0 to 100 percent in 60 minutes.
The LiveWire is equipped with HD Connect , which offers connectivity via the LTE standard cellular network and cloud services via a Harley-Davidson app. HD Connect collects vehicle data and transfers it to the app to provide the driver with various information - even when the motorcycle is not nearby. The system also displays the location of the parked LiveWire. If unauthorized persons tamper with the motorcycle or move it, the driver will receive a corresponding message.
The portfolio of electric two-wheelers, to which LiveWire belongs, is an essential part of the More Roads to Harley-Davidson , which aims to create new products in additional segments, expand access to the brand for new customers and strengthen the global dealer network. The LiveWire is one of several new electric vehicles designed to open up new markets and new segments and inspire the world's next generation of riders to ride.
It will be available from authorized dealers from late summer 2019
