Cardo scala rider® PACKTALK™: limitless communication thanks to DMC™ and Bluetooth®
The new PACKTALK™ from Cardo uses the revolutionary DMC™ technology for its intercom function
.
In this way, motorcyclists can communicate with each other without restrictions, even in large groups. For users of Cardo's scala rider® systems, comprehensive information and communication are just as much a part of motorcycling as the ultimate enjoyment of music. The intercom function of the new scala rider® PACKTALK™ enables communication between up to 10 participants over a terrain-related distance of up to 1.6 kilometers. In contrast to the linear connection with Bluetooth® based intercom, the new dynamic network communication DMC™ (Dynamic Meshwork Communication) developed by Cardo in PACKTALK™ connects every member of a group with everyone. In addition, DMC™ is a self-adapting network: If drivers in the group overtake each other or get out of range, this change in the network is bridged by DMC™ in a fraction of a second and imperceptibly for the participants. Even if riders who left the group later rejoin, they will automatically be rejoined into the group.

Of course, with the new PACKTALK™, thanks to the proven Bluetooth® technology, both telephone conversations from the smartphone and voice instructions from the navigation device can be received in the best sound quality.
PACKTALK™ also enables perfect stereo music reception either via the built-in FM radio with RDS, with six station presets and with automatic station search, via wireless music streaming from a Bluetooth®-enabled mobile device or via cable from any MP3 player. Thanks to Music Sharing™, you can even listen to the same music as a couple. When intercom calls are ongoing, the volume of all activated audio sources is automatically reduced. In addition, the new PACKTALK™ is characterized by all the useful features known from other Cardo scala rider® models. These include automatic volume adjustment, spoken status announcements in several languages, individually savable speed dials, redirection of intercom connections to a cell phone and much more. To make handling the PACKTALK™ as intuitive and easy as possible, Cardo has developed a new control element that can even be operated with winter gloves: the roller wheel, which provides access to a wealth of functions.
So that the driver can use the full range of functions of the PACKTALK™ while driving without having to reach for the helmet, most functions can alternatively be controlled via voice commands or via a smartphone thanks to the “Remote Control” of the free Cardo SmartSet™ app. The new Cardo scala rider® PACKTALK™ is the first communication system that combines DMC™ and Bluetooth® technologies in one device and uses them both simultaneously and complementary. PACKTALK™ is revolutionizing communication for motorcyclists. The PACKTALK™ is available in specialist retailers or in the Cardo online shop in time for the new season for around 300 euros (RRP). In a double pack with two control units already paired, it will cost around 530 euros (RRP) as Cardo PACKTALK™ DUO.
