Peter Maffay on tour with the Harley Trophy 2013 in the north
Hamburg Harley has been around for 18 years and collects donations from Harley friends for a good cause.
It was clear that the Harley Trophy and Peter Maffay would come together at some point and over the years several thousand euros have already been raised for the “Peter Maffay Foundation”.
This year, €5,000 was collected for the Peter Maffay Foundation
The limited tickets could be purchased at the Harley-Davidson authorized dealer in Hamburg Nord by customers and other enthusiastic Harley fans for a donation of at least €30.
Except for a small tribe, it's actually a wild bunch that supports the Harley Trophy .
But they all have one thing in common, they are addicted to the American Harley-Davidson dream of freedom and independence, it doesn't matter whether you know each other or not, they ride Harleys and who comes from where or what they do for a living doesn't matter at all when they're together When you're on tour, the only thing that counts is the thing.
And that's perhaps what's so special about this event that fascinates Peter Maffay Hamburg the morning, no one bothers him, he runs around among the bikers like one of them, and that's exactly what he is. Photos are taken here and there, the press also wants to be served, but everything takes place in a very relaxed atmosphere.
And when Peter goes to the counter to get his own coffee, he drinks it like everyone else, even from a paper cup.
Maybe what makes him so special, besides his music, is that he is an extraordinary person as a person who, as he himself says, makes himself small, especially on days like these and let's just make a point.
Because the campaign is not about Peter Maffay or the Harley bikers and they all know that.
Every year the blockers are from various Hamburg chapters and free bikers who take time off work for the not-so-easy task. A tour through beautiful Schleswig-Holstein doesn't happen on its own, it takes experience and tact so that the Harley s arrive at the destination as safely as possible, but so far it has always worked, which is also thanks to Bumpi, who has been in charge of planning the tours for 18 years.
When it starts in Hamburg in the morning, it's very relaxed, we have a decent breakfast and then we head north on the motorway to the next rest stop to collect ourselves.
This year, for the first time, the convoy was accompanied by the Johaniter motorcycle squadron; the routine drivers also ensured safety on the approximately 80-kilometer-long exit that reached its destination “Alte Mühle” in Bergstedt
The bikers were already waiting there, the grill was glowing and the drinks were ready.
A great location right on the lake in the northern area of Hamburg, entertaining live music was also offered, the group Friedrich Jr. played their songs, but one piece of music was a special kind, the singer Friedrich Jr. that they would like it today They didn't want to take it so seriously, but no one really wanted to believe them when they performed the song “Du” right in front of Peter Maffay.
But he liked it, as he was very moved by the whole campaign, which Harley-Hamburg Nord put together again confidently in collaboration with Martina Heitzig.
In any case, Peter Maffay quickly invited the entire Harley gang to his concert, which took place two days later in Bad Segeberg, no one had expected that.
So the Harley Trophy 2013 only ended two days later in Bad Segeberg, the Harleys came to the Kalkberg in small groups to give one of them a boost for his efforts, the donation box was let out again until it really started went.
Peter Maffay thanked the bikers again, just as the “Wilde Bunch” also thanked him for his support of the Harley Trophy. However, the people it was actually about weren't there, it's not about Peter Maffay or the Harley's, but about children and young people who aren't on the bright side of life and need help because they're traumatized, right have to process other serious experiences.
Hold on to your hearts, everyone can do something about it, a small amount can be quickly sent via Paypal from the Peter Maffay Foundation website to support the projects for the benefit of the children and young people affected.
With this in mind, the Harley Trophy will once again let the V2 engines vibrate through the hearts next year.
