POL-SE: Pinneberg - Car driver causes accident and commits hit-and-run - Police are looking for witnesses
On 16.05.2024 (Thursday) at 13:56, there was a traffic accident in longitudinal traffic in which a two-wheeler rider was injured. The car driver who caused the accident drove off without stopping.
Bad Segeberg (ots) - At the time of the accident, a 39-year-old driver of a motorcycle (Harley-Davidson) with Pinneberger license plates was driving along Friedrich-Ebert-Straße coming from Damm in the direction of Hochstraße. He was driving in the left-hand lane. Next to him in the right-hand lane was a black Mercedes-Benz Vito in the same direction.
According to the motorcyclist's account, the car driver suddenly faked a lane change. The motorcyclist reacted by steering jerkily to the left to prevent contact. This caused the two-wheeler rider to veer off the road to the left, crash into a traffic sign and then fall.
The driver of the Vito made off without being recognized. The motorcyclist was slightly injured in the incident and was taken to Pinneberg Hospital for initial treatment.
