Caused an accident while drunk and drove off

Filderstadt 14.06.2021

A drunk driver slightly injured a motorcyclist in a traffic accident in Bernhausen on Saturday afternoon and then drove off. The 56-year-old was driving his Mercedes Benz C-Class on Talstrasse coming from Aicher Strasse shortly after 4.30 pm. When turning left onto Tübinger Straße, he hit the oncoming Harley Davidson of a 60-year-old man. The contact caused the biker to fall to the ground and sustain minor injuries. The Mercedes driver initially stopped briefly, but then left the scene of the accident without permission.

Thanks to attentive witnesses who had noted the license plate number of the fleeing vehicle, the 56-year-old was found a few minutes later at the owner's address. The officers discovered that the person responsible for the accident was under the influence of alcohol. A test gave a preliminary result of around two per mille. After a blood sample was taken, he had to hand over his driver's license. The vehicles were damaged to the tune of several hundred euros.

Sindelfingen: 30,000 euros property damage and slightly injured motorcyclist

11.06.2021 Ludwigsburg

In a traffic accident at around 12:00 noon on Friday at the junction of Fronäckerstrasse and Gottlieb-Daimler-Strasse in Sindelfingen, initial estimates put the damage to property at around 30,000 euros. The 58-year-old driver of a Harley-Davidson sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital by the ambulance service.

An 18-year-old VW driver coming from Sindelfingen on Fronäckerstrasse in the direction of Maichingen had apparently decided to turn left at the junction with Gottlieb-Daimler-Strasse at short notice, even though the traffic lights were red. As a result, the oncoming Harley-Davidson rider collided with the young man's car. The motorcycle was totaled in the collision.

(Sulz am Neckar, Lkrs. RW) Harley rider collides with deer and is seriously injured

10.06.21 Sulz

A rider of a Harley-Davidson had an accident with his heavy machine on the old B14 on Thursday afternoon. He was traveling with another motorcyclist towards Fischingen at around 2 p.m. when a deer suddenly jumped out of the forest halfway along the road. The friend of the accident victim was able to reflexively avoid the deer, but the 66-year-old was no longer able to do so. The accident with the deer caused him to fall and injure himself seriously. His motorcycle slid down the embankment there and came to rest next to the road in a meadow.

Due to the severity of his injuries, the motorcyclist had to be flown to a hospital by rescue helicopter. The country road was closed for almost two hours while the helicopter landed and the accident was being investigated. This also caused traffic obstructions. The police estimate the damage to the Harley-Davidson at 3000 euros. There is no trace of the deer, which ran off towards the railroad tracks after the accident. Together with the gamekeeper, Sulz police officers searched in vain for the possibly injured deer.
