Hanover Police Headquarters – Renewed appeal for witnesses after motorcycle accident with serious injuries near Ditterke
July 20, 2021 – A 52-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, on state road (L) 401 (we reported). The man veered off the road to the right between Leveste and Ditterke. The police are now specifically looking for first responders who stopped briefly and have now come forward.
According to findings by the Hanover Traffic Accident Service, the 52-year-old man from Hanover was traveling on the L 401 from Leveste toward Ditterke at around 4:40 p.m. While navigating a double curve, he began to swerve for reasons that are still unclear and veered off the road to the right. There, the man fell from his BMW motorcycle and was seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital.
A witness has now reported to the police that there was a small brown SUV at the scene, driven by a woman aged between 35 and 40. She had stopped at the scene of the accident, as had another motorcyclist, who was presumably riding a racing bike of an unknown make and wearing a black, white, and red jumpsuit. Shortly thereafter, both the car and the motorcycle left without the drivers leaving their personal details.
The Hanover Traffic Accident Service is asking the witnesses mentioned to come forward. They, as well as anyone who can provide information about the witnesses sought, should call 0511 109-1888. /ram, bo Hanover Police Headquarters
