As part of the nationwide road safety campaign “Road Safety Day”, officials from Traffic Directorate 6 will be providing information about the “Silent Rider” initiative tomorrow at two popular meeting points for motorcyclists.

The trend of driving to so-called “biker meeting points” by motorcycle when the weather is nice is increasing again due to the easing of the containment regulations. Well-known locations, such as the Zollenspieker ferry pier or the “Coffee to Fly”, are often used as meeting points. The resulting background noise, for example from manipulated exhaust systems, is increasingly placing an enormous burden on residents and restricting their quality of life.

Although those who cause noise are only a minority, all motorcyclists are often criticized for this. The consequences are often restrictions, legal bans or route closures, such as in other federal states. In order to sensitize motorcyclists to the issue, the Hamburg police will hold on-site discussions tomorrow to inform them about the generation of excessive noise and the resulting effects.

In addition, flyers are distributed and posters of the initiative are hung up.

  1. It's unbelievable what you're doing (on orders), but on the other hand you expect me to mourn an unfortunate colleague... do you notice what?

    1. Hello Andreas,
what is the background to your comment? When it comes to the police, it has to be said that the Silent Rider campaign is politically controlled and that the police are basically supposed to do the work; they are probably the least able to do it.
