The event starts on Friday, April 26th and runs until Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. A colorful program awaits you with numerous exhibitors and, of course, catering is provided. There will also be some of Rick's custom bike conversions
With rising temperatures we will soon move into the sunny month. For motorized two-wheeled riders, this is when the new motorcycle season gets underway. And this is exactly what is traditionally welcomed in a very special way at Rick's Motorcycles in Baden-Baden Oos. If women in the fifties and sixties wanted to feel comfortable, rise above things and really blossom, they would allow themselves a sip of “women's gold” from their trusted drugstore. “Happy with life with women’s gold” was the advertising message – no wonder, the tonic had an alcohol content of 16.5 percent by volume…
Nowadays women have it better - they just buy a Harley. That could at least be the conclusion of a study carried out by the market research institute Kelton Global in the USA on behalf of Harley-Davidson. Using a sample of 1,013 women who ride motorcycles and 1,016 women who do not ride motorcycles, the aim was to find out what women get out of this hobby.
The astonishing result: Apparently, female bikers have much better emotions in general and self-esteem in particular than non-bikers. Twice as many said they felt happy (37 percent of female drivers, 16 percent of non-drivers), four times as many said they felt sexy (27 percent of female drivers, 7 percent of non-drivers) and twice as many felt confident (35 percent). of female drivers, 18 percent of non-drivers). More than half (53 percent) of female motorcyclists surveyed attributed their overall life satisfaction to riding, and nearly three-quarters of female bikers said their lives were enriched when they decided to get on a motorcycle.
“Motorcycling is simply the ultimate form of expression of personal freedom,” explains Claudia Garber, Director of Women's Outreach at Harley-Davidson. The study also revealed that biking can have a positive impact on relationships. 60 percent of female drivers, but only 38 percent of non-drivers, were satisfied with the communication with their life partner. More than half of the female bikers (51 percent) expressed satisfaction with their sex life - the figure for non-riders was only 38 percent. So it's no surprise that 50 percent of bikers are extremely satisfied in their relationships.

After the great success of the “Battle of the Kings” contest in 2017, the ultimate Harley-Davidson dealer competition for custom bikes will be held worldwide in 2018.
Machines from Australia, Europe, Japan, the Middle East, Norway, Mexico and South Africa will be there.
In the fourth year of this contest, more than 200 authorized Harley-Davidson dealers will compete against each other with their two-wheeled creations. And the range of basic bikes is also increasing in 2018 - every Harley-Davidson Dark Custom Bike can be used as a starting point for the custom project. The Street 750, Street Rod, Iron 883, Forty-Eight and Roadster models as well as the two new Softail models Fat Bob and Street Bob are eligible.
The rules are simple: The customizing budget must not exceed 6,000 euros (plus VAT) and the machine must be registrable.
The Battle of the Kings 2018 competition started back in October 2017, asking dealers to redesign a machine. Following the election of the national Custom Kings, which will take place shortly, the contest will culminate in November 2018 with all these champions fighting for the crown of the international Custom King. The final and coronation will take place at the EICMA in Milan.

The Sport Glide's fairing is shaped to deflect wind away from the rider's chest while leaving his or her head in a clean stream of air. It's secured to the fork tubes with quick-release clamps, making removal or installation fast and easy. Riders seeking even more wind protection can exchange the standard 1.5-inch-high windshield for a 5.5-inch Light Smoke Windshield available from Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories.
The new rigid (and lockable) panniers feature a sleek clamshell design. They're easy to load and unload and can be opened with one hand by a seated rider; a damping device allows the lids to open smoothly. Also the bags can be removed in seconds with an internal quick-release mechanism, leaving behind barely visible mounting points. Combined pannier capacity is 1.9 cubic feet (25.5L).
Additional luggage capacity can be added with an accessory sissy bar upright, luggage rack or Tour-Pak mounting rack, each with the all-new HoldFast™ detachable latch system designed specifically for the new Softail platform. Like the Sport Glide panniers and fairing, HoldFast accessories can be installed or removed in seconds to strip the bike back down to its essential cruiser form.
A broad, supportive seat and forward-mounted foot controls contribute to a rider triangle designed to fit a broad range of sizes; seat height is set at just 652.7mm. The Daymaker LED headlamp is surrounded by a ring of LED signature lighting and complements the bright LED taillight (and LED rear indicators). A USB charging port, keyless ignition and the Harley-Davidson Smart Security System are standard features.
New 43mm inverted forks stiffen the front end and feature a single-cartridge damping system to for precise handling, stability and confident braking performance – which is further enhanced by standard ABS. The Sport Glide rolls on new Mantis cast-aluminum wheels, 18-inch front and 16-inch rear, shod with Michelin Scorcher 31 performance tires.
The Sport Glide also features the all-new Softail monoshock rear suspension with remote hydraulic spring preload adjustment, controlled via an exposed knob below the right side cover. It's thus easy to accommodate the weight of luggage or passenger while maintaining optimal suspension performance and steering geometry.

The blacked-out Milwaukee-Eight 107 powertrain brings a new level of performance and sophistication to Harley-Davidson Big Twin cruisers, including the new Sport Glide. Dual counter-balancers are tuned to eliminate primary vibration at idle while permitting some engine character to reach the rider at speed. The engine is rigid-mounted in the frame, which stiffens the chassis and connects the rider more directly to the powertrain.
Precision oil cooling around the hottest areas of the cylinder heads further enhances rider and passenger comfort. The 2-1 exhaust, with sweeping rear header and black exhaust muffler contribute to the bike's sporty style and enhance cornering clearance. Electronic throttle control enables standard electronic cruise control.
