THE EAGLES

Review | Legendary Eagles concert in Vechta in 2014

It was a truly legendary concert in Vechta, it began with the Manfred Mann's Earth Band at the Stoppelmarkt open-air venue. All of them no longer in the first flush of youth, but still first-class performers on stage, gave their best renditions of their songs.

THE BOSSHOSS

The band itself has a large fan base in Germany, but with their wild, action-packed show, they were a perfect fit for the bands of yesteryear. Whether stage diving into the crowd or guzzling liters of beer, the show was a hit. Even enthusiastic Harley riders seemed surprised that someone would hire them as the opening act. Sascha joked that if the Eagles would rather watch the World Cup, they would play the whole evening.

They did a great job and got a lot out of their song program, a TOP live band, great musicians, the visit was worth it just for the BOSSHOSS crew alone.

But then the Eagles came on stage. First they joked a little about the weather, which was similar to Canada for them, but then they got started.

Despite the light drizzle, the spark was ignited, a mega sound system, I've never heard such good sound at a live concert, truly remarkable.

Anyone who could sing along to the Eagles' songs will have had their 100%ige fulfillment; no CD can match the soundscape, it was an experience. The Eagles' road songs accompany many Harley bikers on their tours, and some even came to the concert on their bikes; Harley jackets and T-shirts were a common sight.

It was their only concert in Germany. Had they been more visible in the German media after such a long absence, the OpenAir venue in Vechta would not have been big enough for such a high-quality show. Around 10,000 visitors arrived early to secure the best spots.

Everything was very well organized inside, and good food and drinks rounded off the evening. The fans got their money's worth; some had traveled a long way and were rewarded with a first-class concert.
