Review – Prague Harley Days 2022

From September 2nd to 4th, 2022, the Prague Harley Days its 10th anniversary in Prague. The party took place a weekend before European Bike Week .

The Czech capital on the Vltava impresses with many baroque buildings in the old town area. The event can be combined with tours in the beautiful surroundings and a great city.

The event took place at the expansive Metronome Festival and Exhibition Center. A very large area where countless Harleys could be seen, especially on Saturday. There were various subject areas where I think you wouldn't see them at our events, which makes the event a bit special. The MadMax group was very cool, but also a bit strange, from painting with children to bizarre clothes and sometimes one even had a gun on his shoulder, they had a show-worthy area including a crazy fleet of vehicles. They were all very extraordinary.

In any case, there was a lot to see, lots of bikes, plenty of food and there was a show program on two stages. A bike show that was set up in the middle of the mile between the dealers, in which bikers from Germany also took part. There was plenty of seating, but it has to be said that it's certainly not easy to fill the entire area, there's a lot of getting lost.

The police seemed relaxed

The race management was more concerned about the traffic than the bikers, at least I didn't hear anything else. When traffic started to build up at the event site, they quickly regulated traffic to the event site so that the bikers didn't have to stand in traffic for too long in the high temperatures.

This year, Friday and Sunday were rather quiet, but on Saturday the party took place with great weather. I would rate it as an event that you should definitely visit. Maybe it's not an event that needs to be attended every year, but it's worth visiting, especially in combination with a visit to Prague's Old Town.

Interesting places outside Prague

If you want to explore the surrounding area, you will notice that there are many interesting places between Prague and Dresden, whether it is the town of Pilsen, where the well-known brewery with the Pilsner Urquell has been around since 1842, which you can visit, or the Pravcice Tor (Prebischtor), the natural stone arch in the picturesque landscape with a phenomenal view. To the west is the town of Marienbad , which is particularly known for its springs and hill park. The Boheminium Park is full of miniature models of historic Czech castles, something you don't often see. These were just a few tips for the explorers among you looking for a few destinations in the area.

For my part, I drove from Prague to Tyrol to the Top Mountain Museum , which was rebuilt and is now even bigger and more beautiful. From there I drove across the Dolomites to Lake Faaker See to take part in the European Bike Week. That was a great tour, especially the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road and then the Jaufenpass were a special highlight for me. In the evening I drove the “Passo di Giau” to get to my accommodation in Cortina d'Ampezzo . That was pure adventure, a separate report will come on that later.

I really liked the Prague Harley Days, as already mentioned, I don't have to be there every year, but I really liked it.
