High-tech for the Harley rear:
Rick's EAS-300 single-sided swingarm
New momentum for extreme M8 Softail customization: Rick's Motorcycles "EAS 300" sets standards in driving stability and clean looks!
Elaborate Harley-Davidson refinement has a name: Rick's Motorcycles ! The custom conversions from Baden-Baden enjoy an excellent reputation for workmanship and reliability; the components manufactured here meet the highest requirements and are developed and manufactured using the most modern methods. Even if these requirements sometimes seem impossible - the Rick's team always “raises the bar” in customizing!
After over a decade of experience and over 1,000 reliably installed "Fat Ass" wide tire swingarm kits, Rick's is shocking the customizing world with a new suspension option: The EAS-300 single-sided swingarm! The CNC work of art milled from solid was created through intensive development and testing work and is now a sophisticated customizing option for the popular “wide” Milwaukee Eight chassis such as FXBR / FXBRS “Breakout” and FLFB / FLFBS “Fat Boy” and FXDR 114 .
The goal was a completely clear view of the right side of the wheel - and with this extreme swing arm it is achieved and exceeded. In addition to its spectacular appearance, the Rick's swing arm also offers tangible technical advantages. “EAS” stands for “single-sided swing arm” and it is not the first such design from Rick's: Soon after the VRSC models were introduced at the beginning of the millennium, Rick's Motorcycles introduced an attractive wide tire swing arm, a custom alternative for the V-Rod series part onto the market, soon followed by an elaborately constructed single-sided swingarm for truly radical, sporty V-Rod conversions. Rick's was and is one of the top suppliers of V-Rod and Night-Rod conversion parts, but that's another story...
The “EAS 300 swingarm” is a perfect synthesis of the many years of experience with those V-Rod single-sided swingarms, Rick's wide tire top seller for all Softail variants with the unique intermediate shaft construction. An impressive piece of Rick's technology, the manufacturing effort often remains largely hidden when installed.
What is characteristic is the power transmission via an intermediate shaft with two separate belts placed near the pivot point of the swing arm axis. A short belt transmits the power from the gear pinion to the intermediate shaft integrated in the swingarm, the longer end belt from the intermediate shaft to the drive pulley on the rear wheel. Both belts in OEM quality from the manufacturer of the series belts Gates. Thanks to the intermediate shaft, both belts remain largely free of tensile loads such as those that occur in the one-piece series version when the rear wheel deflects and rebounds. Engine, transmission and primary drive remain one unit: no offset, no offset, no modification to the frame! Since the primary box remains in its original location, the footrests do not need to be moved - ground clearance and cornering inclination remain the same as in the standard vehicle.
Rick's EAS 300 is groundbreaking in its complexity, function and clean look: The only Milwaukee-Eight single- sided swing arm for wide tires up to 300 tire width and belt deflection near the swing arm rotation axis fits perfectly with the wheel designs of the Rick's program and was developed specifically for the requirements of high engine performance and wide tires. Centered in the Milwaukee Eight chassis of the “Breakout”, “Fat Boy” and FXDR models, the tires run exactly in the middle and without any offset. The clear view of the right side of the wheel is supported by the proven “drive side” arrangement of the brake disc on the left side of the wheel - now delayed by modern Brembo four-piston calipers. The front "short" drive belt disappears almost completely behind the frame and swingarm construction, the rear belt runs over two Rick's pulleys and - a typical "Rick's trick" - the cover above the swingarm axle also rotates while driving and ensures a dynamic look.
The EAS 300 swingarm kit is optimized for quick and easy installation in the standard chassis of the Milwaukee Eight: The shock absorber mount is retained - of course, an air suspension is recommended for a complete rear conversion. The Rick's Drive Side braking system maintains the full functionality of Harley's ABS, brake and sensor cables are laid almost invisibly. Of course, a complete conversion at Rick's Motorcycles is recommended, including the proven Rick's design wheel options and Rick's rear conversion, but the "EAS 300" also opens up new customizing options for other Harley customizers and official Harley dealers worldwide.
Several Rick's EAS 300 custom bikes are under construction in Baden-Baden, but the EAS 300 single-sided swingarm is an exclusive product that is only made to order. Orders for the EAS 300 are now being accepted at Rick's Motorcycles! Get this new swingarm for your personal custom project!
