Rock Me Amadeus
From May 8th to 10th, the 1st Vienna Harley Days attracted
30,000 motorcycle enthusiasts to Austria's capital.
Once the imperial capital and residence of the Habsburgs, today the historic metropolis on the northeastern edge of the Alps is the federal capital of Austria. We are of course talking about Vienna, a friendly cosmopolitan city that has had one more attraction since 2009. Finally, the first Vienna Harley Days took place here from May 8th to 10th.
In the best spring weather, around 30,000 motorcycle fans from all over the Alpine republic and from neighboring countries flocked to celebrate three days of exuberance and peace. It didn't matter whether you were a US bike rider or not. The enthusiasm for the lifestyle made in America once again knew no bounds; it united young and old as well as a wide variety of characters.

Harley-Davidson and its sporting subsidiary Buell had pitched their tents at the Rotunda Square in the heart of the Green Father.
It was a place to listen and marvel, a place to feast and shop and a place for fun and fascination.
The large “Harley Village” truly offered something for every taste with free entry: from motorcycle clothing and accessories to food and drink, adrenaline-soaked stunt shows and cool rounds of poker to nine hot live music acts. None other than “Supermax” rocked the big open-air stage on Saturday evening.
But the real stars of the event are the motorcycles - one more beautiful than the other and no two are identical! Anyone who wanted to experience the driving feeling on such a machine simply got into the saddle for one of the 260 free and non-binding test rides, and anyone who wanted to be overwhelmed by the full package of fascination as an onlooker joined the countless fans who lined the streets for the big parade on Saturday. With the flashing chrome parade of over 1,000 motorcycles, the bikers said goodbye to their hosts - for a year, because Harley-Davidson and Buell are of course coming back to Vienna. The second Vienna Harley Days will take place in May 2010!
