Rockers in Germany – The 90s (Volume I: 1990 – 1995)
November 26, 2019
The 90s - a decade that had big surprises in store at the turn of the millennium. The scene became more restless, MCs like Bones and Panel grew uninhibited, and a race began.
In the Ruhr area there were the Freeway Riders, Hot Wheels, “yellow” Ghostriders and countless MCs who claimed to be number one in their “area”.
There was a power struggle and there was a clear distinction between who you were good with and who you weren't. In Bavaria, the Road Eagle MC was the popular club, while the Knight Riders and the black Ghost Riders were ahead between Baden-Württemberg and Franconia.
In many areas there were many self-proclaimed top dogs and there was no longer as much agreement as there was in the 80s. There were repeated disputes over supremacy in certain regions.
While it used to be a competition about the quality of the rallies, now it was just about showing the others (whoever they were) who was in charge. The smaller the MC and the closer it was to the strongholds of the big MCs, the riskier it was to stage a rally.
Endless tension, trivialities were enough to cause real anger.
The organizing MC was definitely one of the losers. So let's ring in the last decade of the millennium and see what moved the rocker scene in the first half of the 90s.
