Romania is a beautiful country, as soon as you discover it it offers a wealth of surprises. I was in this country for the first time with my Harley in 2011. Full of prejudices, I was quickly disabused of it, very hospitable people await you there. Poverty is certainly an issue, but not everyone in this country is poor, especially the youth are striving for the European standard and the country is well on its way to change. Just something different than the usual motorcycle tours, anyone who has been here has something to tell that not everyone knows!
The nature is indescribable, the Transfagarascher Hochstraße is the absolute highlight on the motorcycle tour, a breathtaking view and great curves await the biker on this route.

Romania (Romania România) is a semi-presidential republic in the geographical border area between Central and Southeastern Europe. The country lies on the Black Sea and stretches westwards across the Carpathian Mountains to the Pannonian Plain. Romania borders on five countries: Bulgaria to the south, Serbia and Hungary to the west, Ukraine to the north, Moldova to the east and Ukraine again.
The modern Romanian state was created in 1859 through the unification of the principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia. In 1918 the national territory was expanded to include Transylvania.

On the high alpine Transfagaras high road we cross the Făgăraș Mountains, drive many serpentines, cruise through historic towns, look around Dracula's city and enjoy the typically hearty Romanian cuisine. visit the Tabaluga Guesthouse in Roades. Together we look at the work of the Peter Maffay Foundation.
