SWITCH/MTN was developed for all active athletes who are looking for a fast, fun, and versatile bike to let off steam off-road or go on a discovery tour and enjoy every ride.

MILWAUKEE – June 17, 2022 - As of today, SWITCH/MTN is Serial 1 available, a hardtail e-MTB that is equipped for any off-road adventure. The SWITCH/MTN has been redesigned from the ground up, but with the same care and attention to detail that Serial 1 is known for. The SWITCH/MTN is designed for active adventurers who are looking for a fast, fun, and versatile way to explore the area.

The SWITCH/MTN is a bike that is extremely capable off-road, with a level of performance that will put a smile on the face of even experienced riders. Nevertheless, the geometry and small details ensure that our new e-MTB remains completely accessible to newcomers to off-road adventure, allowing them to feel just as comfortable.

The SWITCH/MTN has the same basic design as Serial 1's renowned /CTY bikes and uses the same center-mounted Brose S Mag motor and proprietary super-compact battery system to shift the center of gravity to the middle and ensure optimal handling. The SWITCH/MTN has been equipped with off-road-specific geometry and a variety of trail-ready technologies to create an exceptionally capable off-road machine.

The premium, fully adjustable SR Suntour ZERON35 BOOST AIR suspension fork absorbs large bumps and small impacts alike, while grippy, high-volume Michelin E-Wild knobby tires provide excellent traction. The TranzX seat post allows SWITCH/MTN riders to adjust their saddle height continuously to enjoy the same level of comfort and confidence in every riding situation.

The drivetrain components are from SRAM's SX Eagle range, including the 1×12-speed combination, which is operated with e-bike-specific one-click trigger shifters to provide the perfect gear ratio for any terrain when needed. The brakes are also state-of-the-art. The hydraulic TRP Slate T4 disc brakes were also developed specifically for e-MTB use.

Powerful four-piston brake calipers grip oversized brake discs with a diameter of 203 mm and a thickness of 2.3 mm, which offer fade-free braking performance even on very long and fast descents.

All of these trail-ready technologies are great, but what really sets the SWITCH/MTN apart in the e-MTB category is the added value in comfort and practicality that is not a given in this category. Fully integrated LED lighting—including our proprietary BAF (Bright As F***) headlight and highly visible RAT (Rearward Awareness Technology) rear and brake lights—increases both safety and usability.

In addition, like all 2022 Serial 1 e-bikes, the SWITCH/MTN features cloud-enabled connectivity via the Serial 1 app, developed in collaboration with Google Cloud to capture key riding data, enhance safety, and make it easier than ever to enjoy every trail.
