Serial 1 – Less really is more. Less complexity and fewer technical complications mean more fun and more freedom on the trail. Really.

That is the motto of the BASH/MTN, a rigid E-MTB with a single-speed drive that offers pure off-road riding fun. No complicated suspension elements that need to be adjusted, no sensitive gears that need to be adjusted - just two wheels, one gear and one goal: to create a direct connection between you and the trail.

The less you have to worry about handling and maintaining the technology, the more you can concentrate on driving - and the added excitement of electric pedal assistance only makes everything better. 

Inspired by a Serial 1 engineer's own design, the BASH/MTN takes up the minimalism of the mega-popular MOSH/CTY and expands it with grippy, large-volume Michelin E-Wild studded tires and a spine-friendly, shock-absorbing SR Suntour NCX suspension seat post for off-road -Adventure.

Everything you love about the MOSH/CTY has been retained - including the crisp handling and instant feedback that only a rigid frame can provide, and the direct acceleration that the single-speed drivetrain delivers - all in a clean, unfussy style , which you are used to from Serial 1. 

Beneath the Yucca Tan paintwork with special Gloss Graffiti graphics, the BASH/MTN retains all the features and functionality of the standard MOSH/CTY , including the maintenance-free Gates Carbon Drive belt, a mid-mounted Brose S Mag motor that delivers knee-friendly torque of 90 Nm, easily controllable hydraulic TRP four-piston disc brakes, as well as internally routed cables and lines and integrated lighting.

Additionally, like all 2022 Serial 1 e-bikes , the BASH/MTN has a full range of cloud-enabled connectivity features. These are delivered via the Serial 1 app , developed in collaboration with Google Cloud to capture important ride data, improve safety so you can enjoy your ride even more.

BASH/MTN is the second model from Serial 1's Select Series—a limited special series of the company's otherwise standard e-bikes, in which the bikes are refined with special paint finishes, additional components and unsurpassed attention to detail. (The first model in the Select Series was the white MOSH/TRIBUTE, which sold out in a very short time). The BASH/MTN will be built in an edition of just 1,050 pieces: 525 for the United States and 525 for Europe.

Aluminum frame: The frame and forks are constructed from welded, hydroformed aluminum to be light and rigid, while the geometry is designed to :

• Manoeuvrable, agile driving behavior in all driving situations 
• Confident control and unparalleled feedback on every trail

Intelligent Sizing: Frame geometry has been optimized for each frame size to ensure a comfortable riding position and consistent ride across all sizes, regardless of the rider's height. Both frame geometry and rider contact points have been carefully evaluated to ensure our size selection is suitable for almost every customer.

Integrated battery: The compact and extremely durable 529 Wh lithium-ion battery is integrated into the frame, giving the bike an attractive overall appearance and a lower center of gravity compared to other e-bikes. It is easily removable for charging separately, but can also be charged on the bike via a charging port on the lower left side of the frame.

Mid-engine: The mid-mounted Brose S Mag motor produces 90Nm/66 ft. lb of torque. and thus offers sufficient support to enable a quick start from a standstill and to enable the driver to conquer even the most demanding terrain. An electronic torque sensor automatically registers the pressure the driver applies to the pedals and immediately provides the appropriate electrical assistance. There is no throttle or clutch - just pedal and go.

Four driving modes: 

• Eco mode for gentle support in flat and comfortable conditions.
• Tour mode for the optimal mix of support and battery economy in different driving conditions.
• Sport mode for pronounced support in curves or on inclines.
• Boost mode for tackling steep climbs, strong headwinds or other conditions that require continuous support.

Walking Aid: A “walking aid” function is accessible at the touch of a button on the handlebar controls and provides a slight forward movement to easily maneuver the e-bike on foot, especially if it needs to be pushed up a hill .

Belt Drive: The Gates Carbon Drive belt is smooth, quiet and maintenance free. It does not require regular lubrication or adjustment like a chain drive system. It never gets greasy or dirty.

Suspension seat post

The SR Suntour NCX suspension seat post uses a patented parallelogram design to smooth out small bumps and increase comfort in all riding conditions. It features stainless steel bushings for durability and offers a full 50mm of travel. In addition, the preload of the internal coil spring can be adjusted to optimally adjust the level of support for each user.

Controls on the handlebars: The ergonomically arranged thumb and index finger controls on each model allow the rider to turn the e-bike on and off, change the riding mode, turn the integrated headlight on and off and activate the walking aid , without having to take one hand off the handlebars.

Hydraulic Disc Brakes: E-bike specific front and rear hydraulic disc brakes with 203mm rotors designed to provide reliable braking performance in most riding situations - essential for fast e-bikes and riding in a wide range of weather conditions.

Internally Routed Lines: Brake lines and electrical cables are routed through the frame, resulting in longer life and less maintenance as they are protected from the elements and provide clean, no-frills handling.

Integrated lighting: A bright LED headlight attached to the stem illuminates the path and makes the driver appear more conspicuous in the dark. Bright LED taillights and brake lights integrated into the frame dropouts are intended to make the bike more visible from behind. The striking LED front light pays homage to the shape of the classic head tube of the Harley-Davidson bicycles from the early 1920s and lights up whenever the e-bike is switched on. 

Serial 1 App: Serial 1 has partnered with Google Cloud to develop a mobile app that lives up to the Serial 1 name. With app-controlled safety features, true Google Maps turn-by-turn navigation and real-time riding data captured directly from the e-bike, the Serial 1 app is the perfect riding assistant for your Serial 1 e-bike. Access to Google Cloud Analytics and integration of Google Cloud AI functionality allows Serial 1 to continually improve its mobile app solutions to ensure the best possible e-bike experience while maintaining the highest level of data security.

Serial 1 app features include:

• Precise integrated digital security: The issue of security is the top priority for all e-bike owners. With Serial 1's Pinpoint mode activated, customers have the ability to precisely track, monitor and digitally lock their Serial 1 e-bike, regardless of how far it is from them. If motion is detected while the bike is digitally locked, the rider will receive a push notification with several security options that the owner can control via the Serial 1 app, including:

• The e-bike's lights flash in a warning pattern 
• The electric pedal support is deactivated
• The owner can view the bike's current location (or last known location, in the unlikely event that the bike goes completely offline)

Google Maps route planning and turn-by-turn navigation: By integrating current Google Maps turn-by-turn navigation data, users of the Serial 1 app can conveniently plan the optimal bike-specific route directly in the Serial 1 app. The map shows you the best possible route for cycling - including local cycle paths, cycle routes and cycle paths. Once you've set your route, you'll have turn-by-turn directions to guide you as you drive, keeping you on the right path with the most accurate and reliable location services.

• Virtual Garage: Register, tag and track your Serial 1 e-bike from the comfort of your own phone. With the help of the virtual garage, you can use your mobile device to view, connect to and monitor your Serial 1 e-bike at the touch of a button. For households that have two or more Serial 1 e-bikes in their real garage, families can manage all bikes in a shared virtual garage.

• Real-time ride data dashboard: From speed to efficiency, distance traveled to battery range, every detail of your ride is right at your fingertips. Here is a full list of all driving data available via the dashboard:

• Record My Ride: After each completed ride that you have recorded with the Serial 1 app, you will receive a summary of the tour. Over time, you can compare riding and performance data to learn more about your personal riding style and track your progress.

• Automatic service reminders: Always stay up to date when it comes to the maintenance of your e-bike with regular service notifications via the Serial 1 app. Serial 1 e-bikes are designed to be virtually maintenance-free. However, once you have driven a certain amount of time or a certain distance, the Serial 1 app will send you push notifications when it is time for scheduled maintenance or when it is time to perform any other service functions related to the mechanical longevity of your Serial 1 e-bikes to review.

Connectivity: BASH/MTN includes a sophisticated Internet of Things (IoT) device that enables the most reliable connection not only via Bluetooth wireless technology, but also cellular data and/or GPS, so you can safely access your bike even when it is not within sight of you or other people.

Integrated USB-C device charger: The BASH/MTN is equipped with an integrated USB-C charging cable located on the stem. This USB-C cable is perfect for powering a mobile phone to run the Serial 1 app and can charge mobile devices up to 10W (depending on mobile device).
