Serial 1 - Less really is more. Less complexity and fewer technical complications mean more fun and more freedom on the trail. Really.

That's the motto of the BASH/MTN, a rigid E-MTB with single-speed drive that offers unadulterated off-road riding fun. No complicated suspension elements to adjust, no sensitive gears to adapt - just two wheels, one gear and one goal, namely to establish a direct connection between you and the trail.

The less you have to worry about handling and maintaining the technology, the more you can concentrate on riding - and the added excitement of electric pedal assistance makes everything even more enjoyable. 

Inspired by a Serial 1 engineer's own design, the BASH/MTN takes the minimalism of the mega-popular MOSH/CTY and adds grippy, high-volume Michelin E-Wild knobby tires and a spine-friendly, shock-absorbing SR Suntour NCX suspension seatpost for off-road adventures.

Everything you love about the MOSH/CTY has been retained - including the crisp handling and immediate feedback that only a rigid frame can provide, and the direct acceleration that the single-speed drivetrain delivers - all in the clean, no-frills style you've come to expect from Serial 1. 

Under the Yucca Tan paint finish with special Gloss Graffiti graphics, the BASH/MTN retains all the features and functions of the standard model MOSH/CTY including the maintenance-free Gates Carbon Drive belt, a center-mounted Brose S Mag motor that generates a knee-friendly 90 Nm of torque, easy-to-adjust TRP four-piston hydraulic disc brakes, internally routed cables and lines, and integrated lighting.

Außerdem verfügt das BASH/MTN, wie alle 2022 Serial 1 E-Bikes, über eine ganze Reihe von Cloud-fähigen Konnektivitätsfunktionen. Diese werden über die Serial 1 App bereitgestellt, die in Zusammenarbeit mit Google Cloud entwickelt wurde, um wichtige Fahrdaten zu erfassen, die Sicherheit zu verbessern damit Sie Ihre Fahrt noch mehr genießen können.

BASH/MTN ist das zweite Modell aus Serial 1’s Select Series— einer limitierten Sonderserie der sonst angebotenen Standard-E-Bikes des Unternehmens, bei der die Räder mit speziellen Lackierungen, weiteren Komponenten und unübertroffener Liebe zum Detail veredelt werden. (Das erste Modell der Select Series war das weiße MOSH/TRIBUTE, das innerhalb kürzester Zeit ausverkauft war). Das BASH/MTN wird in einer Auflage von nur 1050 Stück gebaut: 525 für die Vereinigten Staaten und 525 für Europe.

Aluminum frame: The frame and forks are constructed from welded, hydroformed aluminum to make them light and stiff, while the geometry is designed for the following properties: 

• Maneuverable, agile handling in all driving situations 
• Superior control and incomparable feedback on every trail

Intelligent sizing: The frame geometry has been optimized for each frame size to ensure a comfortable riding position and consistent handling for all sizes, regardless of the rider's height. Both the frame geometry and the contact points with the rider have been carefully evaluated to ensure that our size range is suitable for almost every customer.

Integrierte battery: The compact and extremely durable 529 Wh lithium-ion battery is integrated into the frame, giving the bike an attractive overall appearance and a lower center of gravity compared to other e-bikes. It is easily removable for separate charging, but can also be charged on the bike via a charging port on the lower left side of the frame.

Mid-engine: The mid-mounted Brose S Mag motor generates 90Nm/66 ft. lb. of torque, providing enough assistance to enable a quick start from a standing start and enable the rider to conquer even the most challenging terrain. An electronic torque sensor automatically registers the pressure the rider exerts on the pedals and immediately delivers the appropriate electric assistance. There is neither a throttle nor a clutch - just step on the pedals and ride off.

Four driving modes: 

• Eco mode for gentle support in flat and comfortable conditions.
• Tour mode for the optimum mix of support and battery economy in different riding conditions.
• Sport mode for pronounced support in bends or on inclines.
• Boost mode for tackling steep climbs, strong headwinds or other conditions that require continuous support.

Walking aid: Eine „Gehhilfe“-Funktion ist per Knopfdruck an der Lenkersteuerung erreichbar und sorgt für eine geringfügige Vorwärtsbewegung, um das electric bike zu Fuß problemlos zu manövrieren, insbesondere, wenn es einmal einen Hügel hinaufgeschoben werden muss.

Belt drive: The Gates Carbon Drive belt is smooth, quiet and maintenance-free. It does not require regular lubrication or adjustment like a chain drive system. It never gets greasy or dirty.

Suspension seat post

The SR Suntour NCX suspension seatpost uses a patented parallelogram design to smooth out small bumps and increase comfort in all riding conditions. It is equipped with stainless steel bushings for durability and offers a full 50 mm of travel. In addition, the internal coil spring can be adjusted in preload to optimize the level of support for each user.

Controls on the handlebars: The ergonomically arranged thumb and index finger controls on each model allow the rider to switch the e-bike on and off, change the riding mode, switch the integrated headlight on and off and activate the walking aid without having to take one hand off the handlebars.

Hydraulic disc brakes: E-bike specific hydraulic disc brakes front and rear with 203 mm brake discs designed for reliable braking performance in most riding situations - essential for fast E-bikes and riding in a wide range of weather conditions.

Internally routed cables: Brake lines and electrical cables are routed through the frame, resulting in longer life and less maintenance as they are protected from the elements and offer clean, no-frills handling.

Integrated lighting: Ein heller LED-Scheinwerfer, welcher am Vorbau angebracht ist, leuchtet den Weg aus und lässt den/die Fahrer/in in der Dunkelheit auffälliger erscheinen. Helle LED-Rück- und Bremslichter, die in die Ausfallenden des Rahmens integriert sind, sollen das Fahrrad von hinten besser sichtbar machen. Die markante LED-Frontleuchte ist eine Hommage an die Form des klassischen Steuerrohrs der Harley-Davidson Originalfahrräder aus den frühen 1920er Jahren und leuchtet immer dann auf, wenn das E-Bike eingeschaltet ist. 

Serial 1 App: Serial 1 has teamed up with Google Cloud to develop a mobile app that lives up to the Serial 1 name. With app-driven safety features, true Google Maps turn-by-turn navigation and real-time riding data collected directly from the e-bike, the Serial 1 app is the perfect riding assistant for your Serial 1 e-bike. Access to Google Cloud Analytics and the integration of Google Cloud AI functionality allows Serial 1 to continuously improve its mobile app solutions to ensure the best possible e-bike experience while maintaining the highest level of data security. 

The functions of the Serial 1 app include:

• Precisely integrated digital security: Security is a top priority for all e-bike owners. With Serial 1's pinpoint mode enabled, customers have the ability to track, monitor and digitally lock their Serial 1 e-bike with pinpoint accuracy, no matter how far away it is from them. If movement is detected while the bike is digitally locked, the rider will receive a push notification with several security options that the owner can control via the Serial 1 app, including

• The lights of the e-bike flash in a warning pattern 
• The electric pedal assistance is deactivated
• The owner can view the current location of the bike (or the last known location, in the unlikely event that the bike goes completely offline)

Google Maps route planning and turn-by-turn navigation: By integrating the latest Google Maps turn-by-turn navigation data, users of the Serial 1 app can conveniently plan the optimal cycling-specific route directly in the Serial 1 app. The best possible route for cycling is displayed on the map - including local cycle paths, cycle routes and cycle trails. Once you have defined your route, turn-by-turn directions are available to guide you during your ride and keep you on the right track with the most accurate and reliable location services.

• Virtual garage: Register, tag and track your Serial 1 e-bike from the comfort of your own phone. With the help of the virtual garage, you can use your mobile device to view, connect to and monitor your Serial 1 e-bike at the touch of a button. For households that have two or more Serial 1 e-bikes in their real garage, families can manage all bikes in a shared virtual garage.

• Dashboard for real-time journey data: From speed to efficiency, from distance traveled to battery range - you have every detail of your journey right at your fingertips. Here you will find a complete list of all the driving data available via the dashboard:

• Speed
• Duration of the trip
• Distance traveled
• range
• Power output of the EV system
• Power output of the driver
• Efficiency of the e-bike (watt hours per kilometer) 
• State of charge of the battery
• Eco indicator (on/off light that shows when you are driving efficiently)
• Display of the support mode
• Status of the front light

• Record My Ride: After every completed ride that you have recorded with the Serial 1 app, you will receive a summary of the tour. Over time, you can compare ride and performance data to learn more about your personal riding style and track your progress. 

• Automatic service reminders: Always stay up to date when it comes to the maintenance of your e-bike - with regular service notifications via the Serial 1 app. Serial 1 e-bikes are designed to be virtually maintenance-free. However, once you have ridden a certain amount of time or a certain distance, the Serial 1 app will send you push notifications when it is time for a regular service or when it is time to check any other service functions related to the mechanical longevity of your Serial 1 e-bike.  

Connectivity: BASH/MTN enthält ein ausgeklügeltes IoT-Gerät (Internet of Things), das nicht nur über Bluetooth-Funktechnologie, sondern auch über Mobilfunkdaten und/oder GPS die zuverlässigste Verbindung ermöglicht, damit Sie auch dann sicher auf Ihr Fahrrad zugreifen können, wenn es nicht in Sichtweite von Ihnen oder anderen Personen ist.

Integrated USB-C device charger: The BASH/MTN is equipped with an integrated USB-C charging cable located on the stem. This USB-C cable is perfect for supplying a cell phone with power to run the Serial 1 app and can charge mobile devices with up to 10 W (depending on the mobile device).
