The SOTO gas stove series for every adventure
The Japanese company SOTO is known for its high-quality outdoor equipment. Especially with the Harley-Davidson Pan America , the topic of outdoor and adventure is becoming more and more important. I have to say that even before the Pan America came out, I always enjoyed traveling outdoors with a tent and sleeping bag on the Harley. The last time I went to Norway was in September, so far it is my number 1 destination when it comes to an adventure close to nature.
One of the most important rules is to take as little as possible with you to save weight. However, you can also save unnecessary weight with the materials, the disadvantage is that these parts are usually not in the low budget range, but are a purchase for life.
The photo is from my last tour of Norway in September, which is why I started thinking about this topic again in the first place. If you have a place protected from the wind, this works, but in my case it took a long time for the ravioli to warm up. SOTO seems to handle the wind better, although I haven't been able to try it out yet. The combination of low weight and small pack size, such as the coffee filter or Thermostack set, make things interesting.
SOTO uses stainless steel, aluminum and titanium. Titanium has a few special properties: although it is heavier than aluminum, it has a high temperature resistance and is also corrosion-resistant.
It is said that titanium weighs half as much as stainless steel. Nevertheless, each element has its advantages, you just have to know them when processing them.
Maybe the SOTO gas stoves are a bit oversized for a motorcycle tour, for example, but if you're already carrying a gas stove with you, it should work too.
To have a strong flame under the pot, SOTO 's Wind Resistance System in its element. Position the cookware very close to the burner.
Where other devices fail, SOTO gas stoves still burn. The reason for this is the patented Micro Regulator System, which is built into three of the high-performance cookers (Windmaster, Fusion Trek, Micro Regulator). An intelligent chamber and pressure line system ensures that the flame continues to burn even when the pressure in the gas cartridge decreases.
In addition, most stoves have details that make them wind-resistant. SOTO calls this a wind resistance system The flame nozzles, in turn, are protected by a raised metal edge that is aerodynamically shaped and thus repels crosswinds.
All models are also:
- can be dosed delicately
- thrifty
- very easy
- Packable in the smallest possible size
- quiet
